Well crap! I got pulled over this morning, tailgating and unsafe lane change ( no blinker).

Do I need to report this? I imagine so.

I would not call and report something I may not have to. But I would call and ask them if I should report it. Subtle difference with the same CYA effect.

We already have the only reasonable Gun Control we need, It's called the Second Amendment and it's the government it controls.

I asked Jon about this at the NRA Defensive Handgun class (also my CCW instructor).
His opinion is better safe than sorry.

They will see it on your renewal, so it will have to be disclosed then anyway.
There's no harm in calling and documenting "on such ans such date I spoke with so and so and he/she thanked me and said it was not a problem"

Just a quick question. My interview is 5/25 and I'm filing out my residence history form. At the bottom it ask if Iv had any contact with a police department. Iv never had a moving violation but I have had some "fix it" tickets.. can't remember the dates to save my life. Do I need to list these each time Iv had a fix it ticket?

Well I called yesterday and told her what happened and she did not sound pleased and made the comment that citations while in the process of obtaining my ccw is not a good thing.

She asked me to write down what happened and send it in.

I think my chance of getting my ccw just went down the drain.

I tried to list all stops. Its not a test so to speak. Just list your best guess. If its on your record they will have it on the computer.

Ok cool thanks man! I'll just list the stops I can remember. But I won't put any dates I guess

Are you applying or renewing? If you already have a CCW and receive a ticket while carrying they want to be informed. If you are in the application process do exactly what she said, write down and tell them exactly what happened.

A traffic violation alone is not a sign you lack GMC, everyone gets an occasional ticket. 10 in the last year or a 502 might be a different story.

They seem hypercritical during the application process because they want to do a strong vetting process. However very few get denied and if they do you can bet there was (from their perspective) a serious reason.

But remember providing false information is a serious reason so be honest.

I'm applying and this is my first ticket since 2012.

I have calmed down allot in the past 5yrs, driving 120miles a day you are bound to end up in a situation you would rather not be in. And I got caught in one of those situations plain and simple.

Then disclose it but don't worry about it.

Had my interview yesterday. It went smooth and quick now time for the waiting game. What sucks is I'm going through backgrounds with correctional department so if all goes well I'll be in the Academy before I even get my range date. Well doesn't suck but it's just $138.60 down the drain.

Write down the dates best you can remember. You may have time to request a DMV printout, but I believe only moving violations and accidents are listed.

Ouch... I thought you already had your permit.

It's not good, but perhaps not a deal breaker depending on what happened.
