Interesting. That's the first I've ever heard of the DOJ being responsible for that lame rule. RivCo allows up to 6, so I don't see how this could be true.

Total BS. DOJ doesn't limit your CCW to 3. I don't even think that they legally could even if they wanted to.

Seems I'm the only one that's recently posted that's taken more than 50 days to get a call on my background. Anybody else that had an interview in October thats still waiting?

Kind of long, scroll to end for short version.

Class taught by M. Green and J. Rangel, shooting portion was them and several others.

Class started just after 8, 5 minute breaks at 9 and 10. Class done about 10:40. Lunch break till about noon, During lunch some of the other instructors came over to the range and checked guns and had those of us who were there load mags.

2 mags per gun, 5 rounds each.
On the line, put both mags in your pocket, pick up gun, point towards target, then they checked grip. (One guy in the first group had his hand too high and the slide tore his hand up enough that they had to bandage him up.) On instruction load first mag. Command to fire given and shoot 5 rounds, drop and replace mag with second, and continue to empty second mag. Drop second mag and raise hand. Once they check that your gun is empty and no mag they have you put gun down.

Repeat for 2nd and 3rd guns if applicable. All done at 3 yards. Only saw one target with holes out of the target area. Target area is about a 12x12 area on the chest of a full size silhouette. The 30 round per gun is in case you need to re shoot.
One guy in my group was having problems with his gun (ftf, fte, not sure which) and it sounded like they were not going to sign of on that gun. Make sure you put plenty of rounds through your gun and use the same ammo that you've found reliable in practice to do your qualification.

Except for the one gun that I mentioned, I believe everybody got signed off

Both officers were totally cool and definitely pro ccw and made it sound like the department as a whole is pro ccw.

Short version, if you can't "pass" this class, you should not be carrying a gun.

No time limit, and they will let you re shoot if necessary. This is why they tell you to bring 30 rounds per gun. Also I noticed that the officers and staff where very helpful to those who had any problems, malfunctions, etc.

So I finally picked up my permit 2 weeks later after the fact...

Gotta say I'm impressed with it being a hard card and the other nice addons...

To those of you still wondering or not to start the process. Just do it. It is not impossible to achieve but it does cost several hundred dollars not including the firearm(s)....

What do you mean several hundred dollars, as far as my wife knows, it was "about" $100. And all 3 of my carry guns were bought for her, lol. J/k, she knows what the permit cost, but the guns "really" are hers.
