When SBSD was doing their investigation, were they discrete? Or did all your neighbors and employer find out you were applying for a ccw?

Kinda defeats the purpose of having a "concealed" permit doesn't it? <_<

It was about 3 1/2 years ago when I was going through the process and they Did tell my neighbor what they were asking questions about. Neighbor had a few questions after but was cool about it. I wasn't real happy they did it though.

What needs to be covered in the reference letters?

Any idea if the new Sheriff has made any changes to the process?

I just picked up an application from my local PD, have to turn it in, get denied, and then head over to the Sheriff's dept..

Finally took the class today. It was great. Follow the your packet instructions, have your references in check and be honest on the app. If you're a decent person, it will work its way through. I know it's a long long wait but definitely worth it.

Bikr- good meeting you today. I'll definitely get to one of the shoots in the future.

Class was great. Now the wait begins!

JWW- It was good meeting you. Hope to see you at some of the IE shoot.

Got my renewal letter. Got the money orders and other stuff they wanted. There have been some changes in the last few years. If you are up for renewal you will need to provide more information than in the past. Sharpen your pencil!

Care to share what's changed? I'm rather curious if they're adding more bloat to the process, or if it's some legitimate changes. (My guess is the obvious -- bloat.)

Just called today to see where I was in the long line. I was told they ran out of dates and will start calling more people once they figure out more dates.
