Wow. Well whatever you do, make sure you don't miss your range day. Mine was on April 13th and I missed out because of some last minute family issues. Earliest available reschedule is July 19th. Major bummer.

You fill out the original application again, which bothered me a little because I didn't have all the information with me. There is also a short renewal application. You need your property bill or lease agreement, a utility bill in your name, your DL and CCW.

If you have any modifications to make, you begin the process at that time. Then there are the fees and renewal class.

Went for my renewal today, did my class a couple weeks ago so just had to go in and fill out the application and get the range card to add a firearm. I called the range today at 1:00 and the set me up a appointment for an hour later. Went to the range, fired my ten shots and left. Now just wait for the new card and will be set for another two years! San Bernardino doesn't mess around, got me in and out and on to the next one!

What do you suggest we do about it?

We have been getting the run around for literally a year until I finally had a sit down conversation with the actual Sheriff. 6 months later we are finally allowed to apply (including a 3 month wait for ANOTHER appointment)...

Now I have to bug my land lord? Aint gonna happen...

I did a search and couldn't find the answer....

              Maybe buried in this thread??

But to add a gun to the CCW after it is issued.... is it a pain and take 6 months or happens easy/quickly?

              What is the process?

              thanks again!!

I changed one out about 8 months ago. I had to take it to the office and fill out a form.

Then I had to go back to the range to qualify with it. You don't have to wait for a class though. Just call and try to meet when they're available.

Not bad at all. I've had mine for about 2 years and the entire process took just about a year to compleat.

Anyone know about how long it takes to get the renewal permit? Adding a gun, went to the range and filled out application last Thursday...

Ugh. And to think, I thought it would be much quicker like Kern Counties process...

What's the deal with the 'Locked Container' for transporting your guns to the interview?
Do you need each one to have a 'California Approved' lock? can you put a couple of guns into a pistol case and put a small padlock on it?

If you can fit them all in the same locked container, that's fine. They just don't want you walking in the S.O. with loose guns. I put all three of mine in an S&W pistol box with a small padlock on it.
