Drat and bother! I don't know why the renewal applications would take any longer than the initial CCW. Odd. Let's hope the backlog is getting less. All the best to you!

Ha! It's been a seven month process for me. I'll do my best to leave the mailman alone. When I started this journey I knew it was all up to God's providence and His timing. I've actually felt quite blessed that it has gone so smoothly and actually quicker than I expected.

I did not know about "informed delivery". Learn something new every day. But that might not be a good thing if I'm trying to surprise Mrs. BassCliff.

I qualified with only the two pistols that I've listed on all my paperwork for the whole process. Let's hope there's no extra hoops to jump through. But as Doris Day says, "Whatever will be, will be."

And just because this is a gun forum...

It took about a month for my renewal to arrive in part because I was adding a new firearm.

Yeah, I did the same, dropped one and added another. There was just no way I was going to pack my G21. I can't keep my pants on with my G26. I replaced the 21 with a PM9.

Dropped hubby's 357 and added my new Ruger LC380.

May be moving from Riverside County with an active CCW into SB County.
Anybody familiar with the process? I presume return the CCW to RivCo and then apply as normal with SB?

Even though I've completed the process and should be receiving my CCW in the mail very soon, I could not find a direct answer to your question on the Sheriff's CCW webpage. But there is contact information. They love email and there's a phone number too.

One can hope that you won't have to go through the entire process and it can be more of a transfer rather than a renewal. It's a very 2A friendly county.

                  CA + AZ = 35 States!

                  Greetings,

As I patiently wait and look out my home office window at the mailbox, I've been doing some counting. By my calculations, between reciprocity with California's resident CCW, Arizona's non-resident CCW, and the addition of Texas along with the other twenty Constitutional Carry states, it seems that with these two permits I can legally carry in thirty five (35) states:

                  Alaska
                  Alabama
                  Arkansas
                  Arizona
                  California
                  Delaware
                  Georgia
                  Idaho
                  Indiana
                  Iowa
                  Kansas
                  Kentucky
                  Louisiana
                  Maine
                  Michigan
                  Missouri
                  Mississippi
                  Montana
                  Nebraska
                  Nevada
                  New Hampshire
                  New Mexico
                  North Carolina
                  North Dakota
                  Ohio
                  Oklahoma
                  South Dakota
                  Tennessee
                  Texas
                  Utah
                  Virginia
                  Vermont
                  West Virginia
                  Wisconsin
                  Wyoming

Now, before I visit/carry in each of these states I plan to research the state laws so as not to do anything stupid. Wow. There's a lot to this situation. I guess it's time to grow up.

References from whence I compiled the above list:

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed two bills this week that will allow Lone Star State residents to carry handguns without a permit and loosen regulations

We offer self-paced and instructor-led non-resident CCW training courses to help you get your Arizona concealed carry permit legally.

You would need to inform Riverside in writing within 10 days of a change of address.
New residents of any County would need go through the entire application process.

Is an employer obligated by either the state and or county to complete the employment verification form on behalf of an employee seeking a CCW permit?

My employer is based in Los Angeles County and I have concerns they may try to dodge and or deny completing it. Looking to get a gauge on this prior to beginning my CCW application.

No requirement for them to fill it out.

This is the biggest delay in getting the approval.

You may have noticed on the last couple of pages in this thread, I am by no means an expert on the subject of CCW.

However, my employer is also in LA county and I would assume not particularly a 2A fan. They must have completed the form in a timely manner. I've been through the interview, the class, the range qualification, and was told my permit should arrive in the mail by the end of the month. We shall see. (I probably just jinxed myself.)
