I've only renewed once but the statement has been basically the same. Slightly different words and using more current events to show why I need to be able to protect myself and my loved ones.
    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Have a friend getting ready to purchase a new hand gun.
The have a Real ID and CCW, electric bill with name and home address.
          What else do they need?
Haven't bought a firearm in several years so I don't actually recall what they need.

Real ID provides identity, residence and citizenship; CCW provides 2d proof of residency and waives FSC requirement and safe gun handling demo on pickup.

Thanks for the reply! That was my thinking, just don't want to get hung up for a small detail. So glad I applied a couple years ago, definitely want to keep it up to date now.

HEADS UP EVERYONE!! I Just received this email, all renewal classes cancelled through end of year, now going online with videos to watch. Should make things a lot easier actually.

                  Hello,

You are receiving this e-mail due to the CCW Renewal classes for the remainder of 2020 have been cancelled (September through December 2020). Due to class cancellation, we have created three videos that will count as your DOJ mandated, 4-hour CCW renewal class. Below are the private YouTube links to view each video. You MUST watch each video in its entirety. Once you have viewed the video, there is an additional attached form titled “2020 CCW Renewal Attestation.” By filling out this form, you are declaring under penalty or perjury you have viewed and understood the contents. This form needs to be filled out and brought in with your renewal packet.

Additionally, you MUST re-qualify with the firearms on your permit at our range in order to complete the renewal process per new California DOJ law implemented in January 2019. We are currently not scheduling a range re-qual at our facilities in order to comply with County Health guidelines due to the pandemic. We have set up three ranges within San Bernardino County where you may qualify with weapons on your permit. There will be an additional charge you will pay directly to the range for use of their facilities. Please see attached PDF document for instructions.

We understand that these are tough times and have been in contact with the California Department of Justice who have informed us there is no provision to extend the expiration date of your permit. If your permit has expired, please be advised, Penal Code 25400 will apply if carrying a weapon concealed on your person or in your vehicle.

Anyone now if this will also affect the initial CCW application process?

I'm waiting on the call for my class.

It will not. They have moved the initial class to sheriff's headquarters in SB. They said , during my class, that they are doing 3 classes of 50 people a week. But they have a large 1000+ backlog to work through. Quals for initial will also be at outside ranges.

The San Bernardino County Sherrif's Department has a damn good website that you really should check out.
