I'm a month past you and still waiting. My brother did his a week after mine and already got his permit (took about 4 weeks for him).

I have a friend that did his in May and his was process in less than a month. I got a email response a week or so ago and they stated they have 500+ applications to approve and I'm sure the holidays are not helping. My status is still the same, assigning to processor shortly.
