My neighbor came and told me. He said he just asked questions about how long I've been there, if he knows me and what he thinks of me. I think he did tell my neighbor that I was applying for ccw. He also told me that the detective said that he should tell me that I owe him a beer.

Haha that's awesome. About how far through the process does that happen?

Yea I laughed when he told me too. I still owe him. Lol. But my neighborhood check was a little over a month after my interview. Here's my time line.

        Scheduled interview 1/11/2016
        Interview 8/15
        Work letter 8/30
        Neighborhood check 9/29
        Background check done 2/7
        Range 3/18

No telling on the neighborhood check.
I originally suspected that they waited until they had DOJ and the employment letter back rather than waste time... my interview was Aug 13 and neighborhood check was Oct 26 (wife was home)

But it seems that many are being checked sooner, so it may simply be what they have available for scheduling.

              Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

To clarify that I am understanding this correctly. The DOJ is now only taking a month to complete background checks?

That is what Sarah said when I was there to redo my prints. She said it had been taking a month now to get prints done

So it takes a month for fingerprints? Or a month for backgrounds to be completed? Or is it one in the same?

Also quick question if anyone has any idea. I did a intrafamilial transfer on January 10th to put one of my handguns in my name when I turned 21. DOJ cashed my check January 26th. Any idea when I would get confirmation that it's in my name now so I don't have any issues whenever my range day comes around

It's tough to say. I've heard as long as 5-6 months. I've done a few and I've gotten the letter in as quick as 2 weeks but as long as 3 months.

If they've cashed the check good chance they've updated your records just haven't gotten you your letter.

Is there a way to check what guns are registered to your name? Maybe by calling or something?

You can't call and get this information. The only way to get it is by filling out this form https://oag.ca.gov/sites/all/files/a...ateCitizen.pdf and having it notarized and sending it in.

No idea how long it takes.
