Yesterday at AVGC couldn't have gone much better, I think. I enjoyed the class and it went surprisingly quickly; Captain Marhoefer is a very knowlegeable and engaging instructor. The range experience was quite well organized and safety oriented. I have to admit many aspects of it brought me back to my range experience in the Marine Corps, which was one of my favorite aspects of the four years I served.

BTW, if I ever had doubts about the position of the SBCSD regarding concealed carry by law abiding, stable citizens, those doubts are completely gone now. The class was very encouraging of CCW and of pursuing continued training after acquiring the CCW permit.

garycolwill - I agree with you wholeheartedly. Capt. Marhoefer did a great job instructing our class. The range was nice, and the AVGC volunteers were all very friendly.

Holy crap I just read so much about ccw. I just moved to redlands from San Diego so I am excited to atleast be eligible for mine. I loved the timeline you guys posted and will be keeping one myself. Starting with application Tomorrow.

Well heres my time line so far, applied 1/21ish and just interviewed today 10/11 ill keep you updated on my range date when i get it, just want to thank you all for all the advice thus far.

Don't apply with the county. Redlands issues CCW's to it's residents.

Fyi, you have to be a resident of the county for 1 year, not sure if that's to submit the application or if you can get it started since it might take close to a year anyway.
Be proficient and train continually. Goodluck

I believe for San bernardino county, the 1 year resident requirement has been removed. It just needs to be your primary residence. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Thought I'd jump in here to document my application and what not. Thank you to everyone prior that has put in their 2cents. Put in my application on July 1st and given an April 2017 date. Just got a call that theres an opening for November 16th wahoo! If all goes well I might have this wrapped up by the end of the year???

You can expect an easy 90-120 days after the interview to get a range date.

You should be finished around April, I would guess.

Yeah i just had my interveiw on the 11th and the officer told me to give them a solid 6 months to get a range date!
