It doesn't seem like any IA eases their requirements.
Each department has their own standards, and the new resident is submitting a new application, not a renewal.

It really sucks, but that's California. At least SB is a good county to be in.

Yeah, I'll stay here. The wife kinda wants to move to Norco. So it's SBCO or out of state.

Norco (and some parts of Eastvale) is one of the few areas in a relatively free county I would like to live.

Some of the foothill areas are beautiful, but you could give me a free house in Bradbury Estates and I would not move to LACO.

Except for needing a GCS beyond personal protection I could live there. I worked the fire ststion in Duarte for a few years and know Bradbury quite well. Most of it is a firetrap, wouldn't live just for that reason.

Gotta renew soon. Anything changes with good cause requirements? Still just personal protection,

You'll have to explain a bit more than PP due to Peruta case. I used an 109 and prop 47 and local to me crime stats. And mentioning san Berdoo terrorism also.

Was this related to you by the interviewing detective?

So far, we have heard nothing from the county, nor from McMahon's media/youtube appearances that they have changed their attitudes towards issue.

The detective interviewing me ten days ago spent all of about 3 seconds going over that. He definitely seemed to have a "shall issue" attitude and Carrie's guy was the same way.

I didn't think anything had changed.

That said, it certainly does not hurt to provide specifics if any reasonably apply.

No I just overheard the guy being interviewed next to me the the Det helped him add a few things to the GC along with Personal Protection. They definitely still want to issue but I think they're just covering bases anyway.

Also it has been over 3 months for me since my interview and i tried calling to see if my livescan was completed and the automated system said there was no record of my ATI number? Does that mean its done or hasn't even started yet? I know how backlogged they are and I figured I would wait til 4 months before calling if i haven't heard anything.

Interesting. Could depend on the detective.

When I interviewed back in august the detective asked me my reason and I said personnel protection and he said ok and we moved forward with the interview. Did the live scan and was told no news is good news and that it'll be about 90-120 days for background. I didn't get an ATI number though. So I don't know how I would check. Anyways I'm just patiently waiting.

I don't even think mine said a word about it... As with ACfixer said, she might have spent 3 seconds reading the response on the application and not a word was said.

As for the wait, they are busy so you don't want to be a PITA. I waited until a week after 90 days and called. They were totally cool, said I was cleared on BG and the app was being circulated for the signatures from the various captains that needed to sign off.

Given they are saying 90-120, I'd wait until a bit after 120 before calling.
Also, for those interviewing in August and after, they DO slow down around the holidays with vacations and such, so it tends to take a little more time once you get into the 4th quarter.
Though she said that I had cleared BG around November 13, I didn't get the call until Dec 1, the day before the shooting.

I mentioned the shooting and said that I wanted a permit for personal protection on my online application. The deputy doing my interview never once asked me why I wanted a permit.

                                Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.
