If me pointing out you can't keep track of your own timeline, while you are questioning the speed of the county's timeline makes you that upset I apologize. Relax you will be carrying a gun soon and you can't let tiny things like this get your temper up.

i wasn't questioning the speed of the county's time line, I was simply asking those who applied around the same time if they had applied online in the same fashion i did?
my temper is fine especially in real life, what really gets me though is those who hide behind a keyboard to be snarky....
for really no apparent reason, same goes to you while carrying, i would not instigate confrontation in the fashion you did..

well you did say you got shafted. as coke said there was a rush after SB707. so happened i applied about a month before that and all of the people who applied around that time are getting range dates now. roughly 60 days from the interview date.

I thought my 3 month wait from Nov. seemed a bit long, now I am thankful its almost over. I dont know if i'd buy 3 guns all for CCW, but thats just my opinion. I kind of believe each gun should serve a purpose, but hey I dont have a lot of extra money lying around like some might have. In any event good luck.

P.S. Don't be so quick tempered, any day above ground is a good one!

true true i did say that, i was more thinking along the lines of maybe the computer shafted me when giving me available interview dates, but the events that took place in December explain both the long waits and huge influx in applications.
and yeah i dont exactly have "extra" money but figured theres 3 spots on the permit so might as well have 3 depending on my attire and destination i will choose from the 3 to best suit what im wearing and where im going, that was my thinking at least.

is that really that astonishing to you?
I guess im not crossing days off the calender like waiting for christmas when i was 5, and getting another lifesaver candy with every day that goes by, should i be?
i guess if i did it that way i wont be a month off next time i ask a question, ill make sure im spot on date and time if i for some reason ask you a question directly, as it seems to bother you.

Just be careful. In the interview they tend to try to push your buttons to see how you react.

gotcha thanks for the heads up, as i mentioned privately to the guy who made the comment,
in person im incredibly mild tempered, my entire life ive done my best to avoid confrontation at all costs.
idk what it is though but with the advent of social media comes keyboard bravery and giving people the ability to be jerks just to be jerks, unprovoked. Because they know you will never see them, never know them or 99.9% of the time they would not say or do the things they do on here face to face, like i said idk why that bugs me so much but it does.

Are we suppose to have the original application printed out? I didn't realize that, or see an option for that when I submitted.

I don't even see section numbers, much less a section 7 - has the application changed?

Yes it is supposed to be printed out along with the notarized form completed.

I have an XD-40 that I bought first for home defense that I am going to put on my list. It might come in handy for weather I dress a bit more heavy, yet I bout the shield specifically for concealed carry. If you can afford to buy 3 just for your ccw then go for it, I wish I could. My next would probably by a rifle however.

                        Yep.

I spent the better part of the 6 months waffling over which guns I would list.
Initially, it was going to be the Shield (that I bought specifically for the permit a month before I applied), the SP101, and G26.

I then decided on the 1911 rather than the SP101 since I don't shoot the .357 that well and it doesn't conceal any better than the Shield.

Then the reality of the reliability issues of the 1911 hit, and I was back to the SP101.
Finally, a month before class, I decided to buy a G36, so I would still have an option in .45, but with the reliability and familiarity of my G26.

Reality? I've carried the G36 once.
                        Daily carry is the Shield.
I've never carried the G26, and when I renew, it will be replaced with the Kahr P380 that I bought a month after class. With the MagGuts magazine kits, the Shield 8rd mags hold 9, so the gun is only one shy of the G26... the gun is redundant on the permit, and not as easy to conceal (though I do shoot it marginally better).

So technically, right now, I specifically bought two of my listed guns for the permit, and as of when I renew, it will be all 3.

I'm hoping as they get caught up on applicants (and the recruitment push) they are able to go back to once a year.

one more reason why i gotta have 3, that way if there's one i just cant stand or my range time with it is not lookin too good, i can move on to another one which pretty much boils down to; in two years ill want to add 3 different ones...lol

                              Range qualification is cake.

They ask you to bring 30 rounds for each gun.
That is the maximum you can potentially shoot.

You shoot 5, reload, shoot 5 more.
If you get 8 out of 10 into the upper torso near center at 5 yards, you're done.

If not, you get two more tries with each gun.
You're almost close enough to poke 8 holes in the target with your barrel.
