Any word on how long it has been taking to process renewals?

We processed our renewal paperwork @ the 60 day mark per instructions on the letter. Then scheduled our class about 4 to 6 weeks after. They handed us our new cards after the class was over.

Only down side is that we had to go to the headquarters twice for this process. And of course then we found out that we could have taken the class sooner than the 60 day mark from expiration at the Apple Valley station if we would have asked.

Detective said usually takes 2-3 weeks after the range date.

So when they check our guns what are they actually looking for? I have been told they run the serial numbers to ensure they are registered/in our name, but what else? Trigger weight?

Can't speak to the experience of others, but all they did with mine is confirm make model and serial number with what I had written.

At my range date they checked function. They made sure the weapon could be locked back, checked for obstructions etc. I would just make sure your weapon isn't all dirty. For kicks I brought a 5" XD which is heavily modified for the shooting competitions I do and it passed with its 3.5lb trigger kit, stippled grip, weighted guide rod, overtravel stop, etc.

Gwolf you just answered my question, my S&W M&P9 FS I removed the retarded Magazine disconnect and was worried that I would need to reinstall it to be allowed to carry it on my permit
