OBG will love this, as it solidly validates a position he's held for some time. From the top of the site: http://www.sacsheriff.com/Pages/Orga.../SIIB/CCW.aspx
ATTENTION: CCW Permit Applicants/Holders are prohibited from carrying firearms in the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department buildings pursuant to Sacramento County Code 9.42.010 (Prohibition).

I'm not Sure how it went, the three People before me did not show up so they got me in early and it took maybe 20 minuTes, i was a little nervous and when they asked if i have done drugs i answered yes between 14 and 16 i Smoked pot, being 31 now it did not seem like a big deal, but they did not look pleased at that answer.

That shouldn't be a problem. I admitted to smoking pot in college and did not have any issues.

They badgered me a bit on that because I was a college student. I was just honest, tried it a couple times, hated how I felt, never touched it again

I guess that we will find out. It has not been closed in a long time.

                Some say March.

I'm guessing they are all booked up for now (They only allow so many appointments at a time) I would check on the first of the month to see if it has opened up again.

Get all of your paperwork done and keep it in a folder ready to go.

People's schedules change. New assignments often arise on over the weekend or on Mondays and Fridays. So check the site late on these days or the day after.

Check the day before the beginning of the new month. That seems to be when they decide to open another month window.

A few years ago, the system was closed but some of us got our papers together and haunted the site. Sheriff Jones opened appointments on a Saturday with little lead time, and many snagged them because the papers were ready. A quick trip to Raley's for money orders and we were done.

One month and a day for county approval.
Approval Letter 87 days after Livescan. Had to agonize over the weekend to pick it up. I almost moonwalked out of there.

Bring your paperwork. Money order, proof of residency, class certificates. Make sure your ID address matches everything and is current.

I think they're getting tired of so many people coming in. It's gotta be tiring.

                        Took me about four months.

Question- so I am moving to the area next week and would like to get my ccw. I had applied in Solano county and ultimately denied due to a suspended license for unpaid ticket. What are my odds? Or should I contact the sheriff's department when I move?

                            Appointments are back up ☝
It was just an old plywood boat, with a '75 Johnson, with electric choke. A young boy, two hands on the wheel, I can't replace the way it made me feel.

Was your license suspended when you applied?

With what you've provided, it's impossible to even pretend we can guess.

It costs $20 to file the application. Then you will know.

Has anyone had their first interview within the last 6 weeks? Mine was a little over a month ago, and I haven't heard anything about approval or denial. I know they are swamped, so if I'm in the realm I'll just wait another week to follow-up.
