Wow, that wait time was forever! Finally got my approval from Livescan today. Prints were done in October!

Actual approval date was January 12th. I got lost in the wait and didn't follow up. Final issue date coming soon. I'll update my timeline then.

What do you mean lost in the wait?

I didn't track the number of days that went by. After a while I was thinking, where was I at with progress. In hindsight, I would follow up with time estimates.

About a month for initial approval and about 60-90 for Livescan

Thanks for the replies, i fried my computer and am not sure an eta of when or if it can be fixed so i was going to use a family members computer, just wanted to have the things like proof of residency ready to go.

Bad news... Sheriff's Dept site now says they are no longer accepting any NEW applications.

Anyone had experience with this before? And idea about how long before they open it back up again. Just moved to Sac and disappointed to miss the window.

I just checked their website and as you stated no new application .
I'm glad I got mine.

A few years back, when I got mine, they were so swamped that they would shut down the calendar for awhile, and then open it back up from time to time. That is probably what is going on.
I used a website monitoring app to track their website. I would get an alert everytime the text on the website changed and I snagged an appt when they were hard to get.

I disagree. There are several new bills being introduced that if passed, ALL firearms will be illegal to own, including handguns. Scott Jones has his fingers crossed. Guaranteed.

Application processing has cycled before during increased demand.
