For like a split second there I panicked.

I still have another 5 to 8 weeks to go still I guess. It's like watching paint dry. I already have my $80 issuance money order, copies training certs and current copies of proof of residence all sitting in my glove box so I can go down to the office immediately after I get the email.

Watching paint dry is more fun; you can reach out and touch it to measure progress.

The process will probably slow down for the next couple of months.

Then, they have to clear the backlog.....

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. With the average of 60-70 days after livescan that puts me at mid December. So with the holidays I wouldn't be shocked if it turned into mid to late January. Bummer.

Or, you could just ignore it, go about your daily business and be completely surprised when you get the call....kind of like Santa on Christmas morning.

Like you I checked my email hourly awaiting for a decision.

When the email finally came on Friday evening, informing me of my Monday morning pick up time, my corporate email was down.

I finally saw the email Monday night, after the appointment had passed.

Luckily, they quickly rescheduled it for the next day ...

I have all my work and personal emails routed to my phone. I hope this doesn't happen to me.

Now you may be able to make the issuance appointment the same day, you do still have to make the appointment. It is not a "Get the E-mail" and go down there. You have to go On-Line and make an Issuance appointment after you get the E-mail. I had to wait three more days for mine!!

Another thing over which you should not fret.

It won't happen to you. GLOCKN'Roll is in OC.

You're in Sac. When you get clearance notice, you go onto the scheduling site and make the appointment that works for you.

                      RTFM: http://www.sacsheriff.com/Pages/Orga.../SIIB/CCW.aspx
Step 5 - You will be notified by the Sheriff's Department via e-mail when we receive your DOJ clearance. After you receive the notification of clearance, you need to schedule a "Concealed Weapons Permit Issuance" appointment via our online appointment system. Do not schedule this appointment until you have been notified of your DOJ/FBI clearance.

Step 6 - During your "Concealed Weapons Permit Issuance" appointment, you will need to turn in all of your training requirements, a money order or cashier’s check for $80 payable to "County of Sacramento", and provide two (2) current pieces of proof of current residency (ie: utility bill, home owners insurance etc) . If all requirements are met, your permit will be issued to you prior to leaving the office. [Final CCW Appointment Form]

I emailed the county (because I'm an impatient tool) and their response said "Still waiting on DOJ. They take between 90-120 days to get back to us"

uhhhh..... thats quite a long time between lifescan and final appointment

fyi i did my lifescan on sept 11.

Actually, it's not quite a long time. The averages are running around 70-80 days, as has been discussed here, at length.

But, here's the problem....you were supposed to get a "LiveScan", not Lifescan.

Now you have to start over....

Dang, I hate when that happens!!!! As we have all found out it takes what it takes, no getting away from that. Just makes you want to make sure that you keep it once you do get it!!

It's actually not such a bad thing that a have a little wait left. I've been buying pistols lately and still need to qualify with two of them. I had surgery two weeks ago and still can't shoot. I'm hoping to qualify with them (rehab willing) in early December. If I get them done before issuance I don't have to pay a modification fee or wait for the new card with the additions so I can carry them.
Stupid 1 in 30 rule is slowing down my purchase rate. I never get ppt because someone always beats me to it.

                                What's up with O.C????

I have a request for all of you.

You guy's have given some great reading and enjoyable post's if I may say. Although some are scary with the thoughts of the whole darn process, but it is what it is.
But hey, I am just curious, what is up with O.C.? Anybody got the latest and greatest of the challenges and the best of the shortcuts (if any) or ideas or just any good info when a person applies. There are a lot of people out there in Orange County (O.C) and other counties as well, that want to apply but have been scared to even consider attempting because of what the sheriff has done with the yes/no, yes/yes/, no/yes, no/maybe, no/no, etc.., kind of crap that every decent citizen wanting to carry and protect themselves and family should never have to go through.
So I ask my question for the 2nd Amendment supporters that have almost given up but need a little nudge by you guys. Help them with your words if possible without scaring the living daylight out of them. We're all on the same team and need to beat the Gun Control activist the most, by arming all of our soldiers of the 2nd Amendment.
Sorry, I am not preaching, but you guys are the only ones that have/are going through the process, so any and all words of WISDOM is better hearing what HILLARY or Brown or Newsom want to do to all us when it comes to our gun rights here in California.
Thanks brothers and sisters in ARM's......shoot straight!!!
