Sacramento *** TIME TO APPLY!!! ***
You overestimate our voting bloc in local Sac County elections, although it's obviously not cast in stone. But be prepared for at least a temporary loss with an interim Sheriff appointed by the Board of Supervisors. And then either a permanent loss with an anti-LTC elected Sheriff, or going through another interminable Live Scan wait and the rest of the process (application interview) for the initial issuance all over again with a pro-LTC elected Sheriff.

Well it's official. Sheriff Scott Jones is running. The good news is if he loses he stays as Sheriff. The bad news if he wins things may or may not change in our county. I personally believe we will more than likely remain a shall issue county.
I wish Sheriff Jones. As much as I hate to see him go I think he would ba a good congressman.
Sacramento County Sheriff Scott Jones confirmed with KCRA 3 Monday that he will be running for U.S. Congress in District 7.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KCRA) —Sacramento County Sheriff Scott Jones confirmed with KCRA 3 Monday that he will be running for U.S. Congress in District 7.

Jones told KCRA 3 it was a tough decision, but is ready to race against his friend and incumbent Congressman Ami Bera.
"I fully appreciate that congressional race, especially in District 7, could get very nasty, and that is something that I'm willing to sacrifice for. It's for the greater good, it's not about me," Jones said. "It's about the particular seat and making a difference in the country."
Jones, a republican, said he has thick skin, is ready to be a congressman and is ready to get things done in Washington.
He will make an officials announcement at an 11 a.m. press conference.
Jones was elected sheriff in 2010 and has recently been vocal about Washington D.C.'s inaction on immigration.
He has been to Capitol Hill a number of times to speak out on toughening immigration laws and told KCRA 3 the time is now to step in and take action.
Former Sacramento County Sheriff John McGinness and former congressman Doug Ose both confirmed they are backing the sheriff.
Jones started with the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department in 1989 after graduating with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Sacramento State and a law degree from Lincoln Law School.
As a deputy, Jones was assigned as the department's legal adviser for more than seven years.
Over the years, Jones served as an assistant to both the Chief of Corrections and former Sacramento County Sheriff John McGinness.

The Range: $50 for one; $10 for additional, includes range fees.
CSTA: $60, including 50 rounds, targets, range fees.
Neither looks like you'll spend a lot of time with them.Comment

With the cheaper classes, you will not learn anything...especially at CSTA. And yes, you will have to sit through the hours. But the price is right.
If you are proficient and know what you're doing, CSTA and other cheap classes are good to go. You'll just be a bit bored. If you need instruction and want to learn something, try LFI at Sac Valley. Wes is an awesome guy and a good instructor. You'll actually learn some things.sigpicComment
