48 hrs after you have your LS done, call the DOJ automated system for status. Results will be complete. Then you can wait for the DOJ to prepare and send the required report to the IA.

    previous scans have no impact.

You should, but you don't have to.

You should be proficient with your guns, and you should list the maximum of 3 on the license (provides choice and options).

Thank you! Just wondering if I should start the process since wait times are so long. At what point do you list your pistols you plan to carry?

Final issuance interview, you have to provide proof of certification training (that's when they enter the guns on the license).

You will need to write the serial number of the guns on the application, so yes you need the gun.

Could have changed, but in the past, Sacramento didn't require identification of guns on the application until the issuance interview.

You are correct. You do not need pistol info until final issuance. I was even directed to leave the pistol section blank in my initial interview just in case i didn't qualify or changed weapons.

Probably just how your interviewer does it. It's not required until you do the issuance and have your training certs for each gun.

I'm so torn! But just to be safe I'll probably wait until I get my carry pistol.

Why. Start the process. You can add a pistol to your permit anytime. All you need is one pistol by the time you issue.

Basically you give them what information you do have. "I was convicted of DUI in September of 2007. I was arrested in X county." If you can't remember if it was the police or the sheriff just be honest and tell them that.

Your disposition is how you were sentenced. Like having to take alcohol classes, work project, jail, Probation, or what ever punishment was given to you.

So basically tell them where, when, who and what your punishment was in that section. You will get more in depth with you about it during your interview.

You do not need to list your pistols until your issuance appointment. Though they may ask you what you plan to carry in your interview. Many people change what guns they plan to carry between initial interview and the issuing appointment. You only need one gun to qualify with during your class and get the permit. You can qualify on additional pistols and add them to your card later if you don't have all the guns you plan on carrying right away.

                                Good luck.
