Funny, I was thinking the same thing. We need to go Shooting someday.

I just picked up my CZ 97B yesterday, took it out to Cordova to try it out and it is Sweet!!

            M&PMarine and xtor:

Congrats--doesn't seem that long now, does it? (OF COURSE IT DOES!!!)

Now that you two are among the newest Sacramento licensees, and you each registered about a 72-day LiveScan timeline, stay engaged on this and other threads regarding LiveScan delays. The 70-day time line has been consistent since last Spring (hence my estimate of "70-ish"), but others are reporting their IAs are claiming a 6-month wait.

Since there is only one DOJ, someone is fudging the numbers and you guys have current ground truth. Share it.

            Best.

Yeah that is my plan to hangout here and pass on what I learned about the process. It seems the DOJ time increased by about a week or so since the Spring. Do not know why but is has, but like you said in some surrounding Counties there are some that are 150 + days after Livescan and are still waiting. Somebody is putting the Brakes on it somewhere.

I did my live scan in Feb and it only took 30 days to comeback. I said only bacause if 30 days seamed a long time for me, i can not imagine waiting 70+ days.

For all of you waiting for your live scan to comeback, i have to say it's worth the wait. Hang in there and good luck to everyone.

Stay safe and keep practice practice practice.👍👍👍

70 days??? blah. Try 120 days for clearance. See below. . .

                    9/5/13: Initial Appt

9/27/13: My live scan was submitted

11/22/13: Email communication to inquire regarding the delay. SSD stated that they had not received word back from the FBI (CA DOJ only??? Maybe not) and that my status was "well within the normal time frame."

01/28/14: Date clearance letter was issued

03/03/14: Final issuance. Keep in mind that this was the "hard to get appointment" days when SSD was transitioning to the Hurley location and people were unable to make appointments due to backlog. Approximately 6 months from initial to issuance.

Cause of the delay was and still is unknown. My background is well into the LE world, I held and still hold a US DOJ clearance for my current role as well as had other livescans performed for other backgrounds purposes during the delay; they all cleared quickly and without issue. Who knows, but I surely hope it doesn't happen this way during the renewal.

There's no DOJ check/livescan at all when you renew.

Lets not turn this into a who had to wait the longest pissing match. Your neighbors in Placer are experiencing wait times of 150+ days, some counties are 365+ days. For every person who has had a long wait their someone who has waited longer!

Good to know. The staff handling my modification must've misspoke or I misunderstood. I was told another look at my record would be performed. Based on the combined info, I will gander that he meant any formal contacts with LE.

Sarcastic grin didn't transfer from my face through my fingers and onto the keyboard. My fault for not looking for the appropriate emoticon.

Not sure about the details of the PCSO process, however as I understand it, it's not as easy as SSD to obtain.

You're gonna have to re apply to the county/city that you are moving to if you are changing your place of residence.
