I didn't take the class yet.. I was busy every weekend the last two months. Plus I didn't expect to hear back so soon. Didn't think I was gonna hear back about the live scan til mid-end of August.

        Residency Requirements

Hello, I'm new to this site and this is my first post. Please let me know if I should post this question elsewhere.

What is the requirement for residency in regards to applying for a conceal weapon permit? If I rent a room from a friend in Sacramento county part of the week, but live (and own a home) in Yolo country the other part of the week, can I apply in Sac county? Does your drivers license have to have to show that you live in Sac county, or would I be able to provide other proof of residency such as a rental agreement and voter registration card?

        Thanks in advance!

You have to live in Sacramento as your primary residence, meaning your ID and proof of residence must be in Sacramento county. I know it's a bummer living in Yolo county. As far as CCW is concerned.

I was afraid that would be the answer. :-( Thank you for the quick response though.

He's inspired me to write a letter & submit it formally to the court.

Let's do this, folks - otherwise not only will there be no more new CCW's for "self defense", but no renewals for those who have one, and, possibly, they'll nullify current CCW permits.

Can you please tell me how to send it?.I just became a citizen last year and I have a CCW and not so familiar with sending letters regarding 2nd amendment.
              Thanks

Address it to the judge as shown on the first page of the letter.

I'm sure this has been thrown out there already as though i have seen it myself, but I am looking for how to write the letter of intent in obtaining the ccw? if someone can help me it'd be much appreciated. I know it was real simple and like 2 lines max?

Ok, I'm moving in the near future and I know that I need to schedule a modification appointment so I will likely qual with different pistols.

Any of you know what the time gap is between renewal and how long before you may renew?

                    Thanks

You have 10 days, when I went through the process I paid the $10 with the DMV on line, and ComCrap will send you a bill you can print out in a few days

Edit to add, I was told this is a "policy" but I won't take that to the bank. do it as fast as possible

Q: What was the most positive result of the "Cash for Clunkers" program?
A: It took 95% of the Obama bumper stickers off the road.

I got my second renewal yesterday. It took about 30 minutes at the Hurley Way office and that included a gun change and employer address change.

The Sac SO permits team is efficient, courteous and a pleasure to deal with.

Just follow the instructions on their website and have everything they tell you to bring (filled out application, copies of 2 residence documents and your training certificates, and the 2 money orders) and you should get in and out with no problems

                            Two separate questions:

Change of address: Statute (PC 26210(b)), says you have ten days after moving to notify the IA in writing.

But PDQ Wiz is right-you have less time:

Sac Sheriff website: "If you are moving, you have 10 days after you move to modify your CCW Permit with your new address." DMV must be updated or they'll turn you away. http://www.sacsheriff.com/Pages/Orga.../SIIB/CCW.aspx

Renewal: You can renew within 60 days of expiration. If your license expires, you can renew within 60 days after expiration without the full background review.

I don't see any question there.

                              Here's what you do ;

                              1. Move
                              2. File change of address with DMV, your bank and your utilities and insurance.
                              3. Go to your bank and insurance agent and have them print you a statement showing new address.
                              4. Make appointment to change address
                              5. Get a $10 Money Order
                              6. Go to your appointment with copies of new statements
                              7. Get new permit.

                              Not so hard.

Not difficult, but what a pain. . .

DMV watermarked document is required VS online confirmation?
