Qualifications went quickly & was a breeze.
Now I wait
I have a trip to Utah on Thursday, was hoping to have the permit in by then- but looks like it's about 1.5 weeks after qualifications for pickup, so I will just miss it

Just FYI, it took 7 business days (qual'd on the 2nd, received call on the 12th, p/u on the 13th) for me to get the call to pick up my permit.

Has anyone heard anything regarding an official stance on putting a gun with an RMR on your permit? I'm sure you can't qualify with it but ok to carry?

I believe somebody from the March 16th class qualified with their RMR.

Just a new bit of info about amendments.

I sent an email asking for an amendment appointment. Got a response back from Deputy Searles stating that they are currently moving the department to a new location and will be temporarily holding off on amendments. He said to send another email last week of April.

They're moving back to Ben Clark (per Deputy Searles when I picked up my permit).

Just ask to go the "pre-approval" route when you go in for your interview.
It won't cost extra, but it will save you $100 for the CCW class/range if you happen to get denied.

The only downside is you'll probably have to wait a month to get into a class once approved by Admin which means a little delay in picking up your permit.

I had my interview yesterday and asked about the pre approval. Was told that it was unnecessary if you have nothing to worry about, and that it would slow up the process. I'll be livescanning this Saturday and reserved my spot for CCW training/qual on April 14. Wish it could be sooner but oh well.

I was placed in the end of month of April qualifying class at Ben Clark and had my interview about 2 weeks ago, investigator said there were no other sooner openings. :/ I feel betrayed. Lol.

I decide do to go the more expensive route and go through American Firearms Training. Ben Clark wasn't available until May...

What is the timeline nowadays? I am about to get deployed in about 7-9 months and will be gone for about 6 months and I don't want to get an appointment and not get it done before leaving.

Called to request my appointment on 2/27. Interviewed on 3/20. Livescanned on 3/23 (officer said it would take 2 weeks). Training/Qualify 4/14. Not sure how long it will be after that but probably 2-3 business days after Qualifying.
