I did mine at RISR, and they were cool. (Retired) Deputy Yezzo is on staff there, he was on the CCW Unit and really knows his stuff.

Be advised that if you put 6 guns on your permit, they will goof on you in a kind and loving way. Guess how I know this...
      Then said He unto them...
"and he that hath no 1911 designed by my servant John Moses Browning,
let him sell his garment and buy one."
And they said, "Lord, behold, here are two Glocks."
And He said unto them, "Meh, it's a good start."

LOL, It's all good Maulerrr. Imagine 35-40 people in a class for 8 hours, you've got everything from cranky old guys with range bags stuffed with high end 1911's and wheelguns, to obvious new shooters with a shiny G19 or XD still in a Turners bag.
When instructing on a serious subject, it's good to inject a little levity.

When the lead instructor (Tom) was inquiring as to who was qualifying with how many weapons, (95% of the class had 1 or 2) my hand was the last in the air with 6.

He joked about my fashion sense, by having a different gun for for everyday of the week. I responded that if Sheriff Bianco hadn't limited me to only 6, that I would have dragged my safe into his classroom with a pallet jack.

Everybody got a chuckle, and it kind of became a running joke for the rest of the day.
I just went to the end of the line at qualifying time, so the rest of the class could cycle out quicker.

Do they require certain types of holster? Thinking of just bringing my universal one for all 3.

RISR didn't require any holsters to qualify.

Thanks for sharing. When I did my initial 8hr class with qual at Second Amendment Sports in PD (31 students) we only got to qualify with 1 gun. But I hear you on the brand new folks coming in with brand new guns they knew nothing about...

I'm glad the "issue" was on the qualification side though, and not RSO making some big error!

My instructor told us he preferred holsters but they were not necessary. Probably depends location by location

                      Need some guidance...

I applied in RivCO back in April.

My GC statement only said "For Employment with ______".

The CCW class instructor said I needed to elaborate and get a good cause addendum uploaded with the letter from my employer; and that having my own businesses should have been included.

(He had promised to work with me on that since April - tomorrow is my phone interview - and he has had not been able to help.)

I did write an addendum to the GC statement, including that I currently work for that employer and would be moving into a new are a of work with them and having two businesses that take me to certain areas.

So the question: with the interview tomorrow, do I wait until I am asked for this or do I upload it with the LOE today?

Should I call the CCW unit and ask them as well?

Just FYI - My interviewer told me not to mention where I specifically work and not to shake my GC around work. He said it's possible to get limitations placed on your CCW if you're applying for it only for use while working

Upload all your stuff now. During your interview, your interviewer will talk to you about your good cause and what type of content you specifically should add or remove. Expect the interviewer to tell you to upload an appended GC statement afterwards.

***This is all based on my experience with my investigator so far***

                          Thank you for replying!

I do have a statement regarding the negative effects of AB109 and Prop 47...and there are three work related GCs...can't help that as I am a photographer as well and do travel to remote locations and other areas as well as a Tech Constultant.

Will upload it all now...I hope the Addendum is not too long at 6 paragraphs...does it need to be signed before uploading?

And part of it is a Letter Of Employment for CCW usage in that line.
