Time to renew my CCW! Is it worth it to just go through Ben Clark for the 4 hour class? Also, I am moving soon, should I wait to renew until I move or would it be better to renew now and change the address later?

How long is the backlog? How far in advance are you beginning the process?

Missed my expiration date by 5 days. CCW Expires 03/12 and my appointment is 03/17. Also, I am going to do the 4 hour class at Ben Clark, but I cannot find where to sign up for the class. Do I need to call them?

              Yes, give them a call.

I'd also let them know you'll miss your expiration date. They may switch it. Worst thing that will happen is you'll be in the same situation you're in now.

I just wanted to give a shout-out to the CCW staff with Riverside County Sheriff. I sent email asking about some special circumstances involving my wife's health - I got a phone call from the Lieutenant who oversees their division a couple hours later who took all the time to talk with me and come up with a game plan for navigating our situation.

First Class customer service has been my experience with the CCW team for the few years that we've been dealing with them. They're sincerely there to help you and want you to be successful in your application process.

I took my training renewal at the Turners / former Second Amendment Sports in Palm Desert a few days ago. I submitted my application the day after. The soonest interviews were in late March.

I really like the instructor Robert who works through Turners in Palm Desert. His classes are always fun and never feel dry / preachy

                    I'd recommend there for anyone

Update on a time-line for applications

-Did my application on Sept 22, 2021
-Was called in to do my lives scan on November 22, 2021
-Had my interview on November 30, 2021
-Was contacted with an approval and pick up date for December 21, 2021

The CCW investigator did advise that they were moving completely to in person interviews at the palm desert station. I guess word got out that palm desert was doing phone interviews only and they were moving faster than the in person at Ben Clark so they were flooded with applications for palm desert. Just an FYI in case anybody was told palm desert was still doing phone interviews. Although if you're not in the Coachella Valley or in the banning/beaumont area and you're willing to make the drive, I do beleive going through palm desert might still be a little quicker processing time from what I've heard from other people I know in the IE.

This should be enough for riverside county. If beaumont requires going through the city then do that but I would apply straight with the sheriff's department if I were you. Also include something about why you would be considered a target for a violent attack by a perp and include that in your statement along with your situation.

Is this, in anyones experience a good enough good cause? I know I have to apply to the city first.

Does Riverside sheriff allow off roster firearms?

Yes, as long as they are in your or your spouses name and the caliber matches with the CADOJ (SSE).

I had a pistol that was in as a .25cal and had to get it fixed

I wish today's liberals could understand: You cannot be generous by giving away other peoples' money and you cannot demonstrate your virtue by your willingness to give up other peoples' rights.
