The preapproval route does extend the entire process a bit.

    Awesome....

I'm starting the process now. Looks like given the current timelines and if everything is approved, I can expect to receive my CCW sometime around Jan 2019.

Yeah, hopefully the Sheriff's budget will be approved and he can add more deputies. Or we'll have to seriously start looking at putting some pressure on local city PDs to start issuing to lighten the load. We have options, it's just hard to get people to actually do anything.

I mean it's near impossible to get more than 3-5 people to come attend an NRA meeting about CCWs. Oh well, you can lead a horse to water...

Thats just short of two years, IMO there is no excuse for that long of wait and I think the county is hoping a lot of people will say forget it and also I think they are trying to force the county supervisors into giving the Sheriff dept. more money in other words they are willing to hold peoples lives hostage to get what they want.

I have talked to a few people that I am not in liberty to say any names but most cities are short on resources as the RSO is and will not pull officers off the street to do this. Some cities are worried about liability if they where to issue CCW's I don't know if the county would be liable for granting permission to the cities or if both would be liable. If it is like anything else they will just point fingers at the other party. What we need to do is come up with a plan with citizens from county cities that have there own police force and approach them and see what we can find out. City counsel meetings you have most of the decision makers there the city manager city counsel members, mayor and Police Chief is there usually.

I did this a couple months ago. They only had us only use 6 rounds and not 10. just an fyi.

Maybe a thread specifically to organize people in each city would be beneficial?
