Great, thank you very much. I've been 'monitoring' this and it sounds like they've really picked up the pace. Good luck on your permit, sounds like you are almost there. Thanks again.

            Reapply online.

Your training provider should give you any updates during the class.

My renewal took 4 months, even though I submitted application 3 months before my permit expired a little ridiculous for a renewal, and I submitted a SUBSTANTIAL amount of good cause and attached information

Did it take so long because you submitted too much information?
ATF Form 4473: If a frame or receiver can only be made into a long gun (rifle or shotgun), it is still a frame or receiver, not a handgun or long gun.

No, I called and asked them how things were going a little before the 4 month mark and then suddenly it started soon after that and I got it the next week

Do they just leave apps sitting there until the applicant calls???

Yes, they have to interview you before they approve you.
I wish today's liberals could understand: You cannot be generous by giving away other peoples' money and you cannot demonstrate your virtue by your willingness to give up other peoples' rights.

My renewal took 145 days to complete (well, a bit longer since they wanted add'l documentation, but 145 days from submitting to hearing back from the processor). When I emailed the licensing unit at the 58 day mark, they said it'd take 90-120 days. So YMMV.

In total (because personal life and school/finals, I didn't send the documentation off right away) it took about 160 days from submitting to them telling me to call in and pay over the phone.

If you're due for a renewal soon, it wouldn't be a bad thing to check in and see how long it's been taking them and to just submit a little earlier than the 90 days they suggest you wait until.
