However, I'm not sure how some of them would feel about anyone having a CCW, as the demographics of our street is very broad. I'm also not sure how I feel about having my neighbors know I would be applying for a CCW . It's not necessarily a deal-breaker for me, as I could let them know in advance that potentially someone from the Sheriffs Department may be coming by, so there would be no surprises.
I'd just like to kind of know in advance before I start the process.
Thanks in advance for any enlightenment.
From everything I've seen, that is not part of the process by any stretch of the imagination.

They used to do that. Not sure if they still do.
      Used to be residency verification.
To keep folks from LA getting a CCW from another county. LOL LOL

Kinda curious how the final approval process works, turned in all my documentation 8/6 after getting the go ahead during my interview...I see some people are saying 3-4 weeks and I am into my fourth week, however people that have turned in documents after me are getting their approvals before I have even heard anything. Any thoughts?

I'm still there with you (almost exact same time line). I emailed them but got a generic response back, guess I'm just going to have to wait.

They're just backed up. Expect to get it in mid September. I think the renewal and initial approval process work on separate timelines.

No residency checks going on currently. They ask for two documents to verify your address (utility bills and other bills), but there is no physical check due to the corona stuff going on.

My processor said that after the livescan is approved, it’ll be about two weeks until I get the call for payment. If everything is turned in already, have you double checked your livescan status through the link to see if it is processed yet? That could be what they’re waiting on.

I checked my livescan and it says it was completed on 8/6...Hopefully they are only backed up.

Just out of curiosity, how many days after submitting the livescan did the Firearms category get processed? That’s the one I’m waiting on, CA and FBI processed the next day.

3 business days for me, but I have a certificate of eligibility, I don't know if that speeds things up on DOJ's end

Hi everyone! I just applied online with OCSD today (9-2-2020) and the first available interview is March of 2021! Has anyone been able to do an earlier interview for an Initial CCW application?
