My time line
initial interview :11/18/15-missed appointment.
rescheduled for 2/16. got the go ahead for live scan.
live scan done that same week of initial interview
approx 2 weeks later. residency check. even OCSD believes in 2 Week.
6/30/2016 got GC kicked back due to insufficient backup documents. resubmitted with more proof.
7/6/16 conditional approval email rec'd
scheduled training for 7/23

same here brother had insufficient documents so had to submit some documents for proof... Deputy said 9th circuit was cracking down and documentation is needed for gc

i think it depends on what your GC was used or the new GC submitted...

GC was SD. Expires Feb. One thing, besides Prop 47 is my wife works for company that owns lots of commercial property in CA. She is often a face of new/old business in these locations. Anyone who's business has been 'removed' could be a threat. She has no training or real experience w/ guns but wants me to carry protection of our kids & us.

Nothing to elaborate about. You're thinking too much into it. Most of the staff at OCSD go above and beyond and help you with your GC.

With some rewording, it may work, but if you were to articulate that to OCSD as is, you would most likely get denied. The way its worded sounds like your wife should be the one applying for a CCW, not you.

There is definitely more. My point there is my wife is uncomfortable with guns (truth) herself but wants me carrying for her & kids safety.

With all that is going on in the world I just can't understand how responsible & trained individuals could lose the right to defend themselves outside of the home. Even Heller stated this as a right. It's not right that we as Californians have to have our rights infringed while the courts & lawyers play volleyball with them. No open & very filtered concealed is infringed.

I have a few months before starting but I wish all those that desire to live this right are allowed to do so.. That even feels weird to say as it's our right.

I've decided how I'm going to handle it. I'm going to do what I always do, be honest. I will make my case and state my reasoning. I will support that with 'documentation' as much as possible. I'm hoping those who currently decide our fate in this area will be as respectful and honest in their consideration.

Last Thursday, an event I was attending was addressed by
Assistant Sheriff Linda Solorza. One area of her
responsibilities is overseeing CCW.
She said they are now 6 months out from start
to finish (all things being equal).
