As far as your renewal process. When I checked on sheriffs website it says you need to scan documents. Is this true? Or can you type it in?
      Thanks

DO NOT ASK. PLEASE DO NOT ASK.

OCSD is aware of the ruling. It is legal in California to own and use scms. I have scms from the 1990s that it's always been legal to carry

OCSD knows how to get in touch with us. If they want to institute a policy, let them. There are pages of conditions we have to agree to. none mentions scms.

Do not encourage them to do so. There is no reason to raise this.

Did someone do an amendment lately? Wondering how long it takes?

Did one about 2 weeks ago. Took 2 days from submitting online to picking up new card.

They have an upload section where you upload your scanned documents. Only spaces available for typing things in are spaces for the Good Cause Statement, and something else that I can't remember right now. For those ones I just copy and pasted my good cause statement to it, or you can probably say "see uploaded good cause statement". Sheriff will give you the chance to make it right if you didn't do it right most of the time.

There's no way for you to type in your proof of residency, etc., so you have to scan and upload.

Hey guys, I wanted to get some input to hopefully put my mind at ease. I applied for my permit on 1/28/19, had my interview and on 2/14/19 and was told I just need to get my livescan/training certificate and after they were submitted, my permit would be submitted up the chain for approval. I submitted my final documents on 3/1/19 and got an email directly from the person who interviewed me stating that she would submit my application to the sergeant that day. I noticed a couple weeks later that my Permitium account still showed me in the first stage of application and was waiting for payment (no payment has been made at this time). I gave the department a call and the woman on the phone told me that my application is with a sergeant but the website sometimes won't update status. I feel like I'm just being impatient/paranoid that something went wrong and my app was brushed aside. Am I just crazy? How long do you think I should wait before actually getting concerned about a potential issue?

Relax. When I renewed my permit the progress never showed movement until I was renewed.

Sounds like you're on the bottom of a stack of files. Be patient.

I waited a little over 2 months when I was in your situation. When I reached out to my interviewer, he said the sergeant accidentally skipped my application and approved the next week. You decide how long you want to wait before asking. Just remember to be polite and respectful.

They did for me almost two years ago, but not for my wife last year.

I was at my local range and the front desk guy said the same, that OCSD will pull your CCW if you have a LEO encounter and have a 11+ magazine. I too searched the CCW guidelines and could only find this vague comment “possessing any equipment or attachments to a firearm not specifically approved as a part of the license”.

Now, one of my CCW listed guns is a pre-ban G-17. It was approved with it’s grandfathered magazines, that were legal then, and remain legal for now given the current status of Duncan vs Becerra. Those pre-ban magazines also fit my listed G-26 (I find the 17 round mag makes a very nice backup mag for the G-26 without disturbing the conceal-ability of the G-26). So this seems like a huge grey zone. Technically, my pre-ban G17, with its pre-ban magazines, was approved for my CCW. The magazines are technically legal for me to possess and carry. They also happen to function in another gun listed on my CCW. The OCSD has made no direct policy statement regarding Duncan vs Becerra, and the CCW guidelines are at best vague on the topic. It would seem quite strange to me that the OCSD would have an informal unwritten word of mouth policy, not based upon the actual current status of law, that would put our CCWs in jeopardy in cases were we actually are following the law. But then, this whole CCW structure in CA is designed to have a huge grey zone of LEO discretion, so I’m not surprised.

Anyone get livescan results back recently? If so, when did you get prints done? I'm at 3 months now since getting prints submitted and all 3 still "In Progress" on status website. Thank you in advance!
