I just was called on my cell and my original appointment in September 2014 was bumped to June 7th (YES, that's a Saturday).

Got the same call. Mine was moved from July 2014 to June 7th. I had to clarify that it was a Saturday as well.

Residency question........I am about to embark on a major remodel to my home......moving out temporarily for a few months to avoid construction dust etc...... My home will remain my "legal" residence....yet I'll be in a rented condo during construction.

What is the definition of "residence" when applying for CCW in a case like this?

You'll be okay. Make sure you explain the situation your interviewer. Also, I'm sure your neighbors probably know you so they'll be able vouch for you that you live there.

Not sure why they still are doing residency checks but my interviewer asked me for utility bills from my previous residence to prove what county I live in.
They don't want LA county residence to come to OC to get a CCW. I moved 4 days before my appointment.

Hang tight folks. I think everybody that has an appointment more than a few months out will be contacted in one way or another and be given a sooner date.

I was just notified that my Sept 2017 appt has been moved up to March 2015, with an earlier date still possible. Yeah!
