I just a call today as well, and now have an appointment for next week. Anxious to hear if anyone actually starts getting their ccw issued.

Got the same call. Mine was moved from July 2014 to June 7th. I had to clarify that it was a Saturday as well.

The good cause is "self defense".

Is it really as simple as writing self defense? Can any other member here who has already had their interview chime in?

Residency question........I am about to embark on a major remodel to my home......moving out temporarily for a few months to avoid construction dust etc...... My home will remain my "legal" residence....yet I'll be in a rented condo during construction.

What is the definition of "residence" when applying for CCW in a case like this?
                      HK P30 .40
                      Walther PPQ 9mm
                      XDs .45
                      Colt M45A1 CQBP
                      STI Trojan .40
                      STI Marauder 9mm
                      STI Perfect 10
                      Benelli M2

You'll be okay. Make sure you explain the situation your interviewer. Also, I'm sure your neighbors probably know you so they'll be able vouch for you that you live there.

Not sure why they still are doing residency checks but my interviewer asked me for utility bills from my previous residence to prove what county I live in.
They don't want LA county residence to come to OC to get a CCW. I moved 4 days before my appointment.

I was just notified that my Sept 2017 appt has been moved up to March 2015, with an earlier date still possible. Yeah!
