Just an FYI, for those interested in amending your license (adding/swapping firearms listed on your permit), OCSD has now allowed amendment applications to be submitted:

    IMPORTANT NOTICE:
The firearm add suspension has been lifted and you may submit your request to amend your current license. Please be sure you have qualified with the firearm(s) to be added and upload a copy of your signed/dated training certificate.
We're sorry, but this agency is no longer a Permitium customer. Please contact you local agency directly if you have questions or to find out more information.

It looks like you can not just log in to make amendments?
You have to fill out the entire application, then choose Amendments.
And them when you do that, it says they are not allowing then

The bolded part above conflicts with the notice on the OCSD's web site.

The "IMPORTANT NOTICE" plainly refers to a "current license"; not one for which an application is in progress.

The bolded part was in reference to Gee’s question, meaning once you’re issued (you’re now a current licensee), you have to amend by completing an amendment application

My initial post was referring to current licensees, as they stopped amendments during the Covid craze.

If you’re still in the process of obtaining a permit, you can still “amend” so you can send them an email that you’d like to add stuff (post interview), or amend at your interview.

Thanks for the explanation. While I thought not, we are on all four.

Once you have appt date within 6 months go ahead and do the training.
I submitted my app in September and my appt is in May if you interested in my timeline.
Thanks for the information. When I applied, the earliest appointment date was Nov 3rd so I guess I'll do my training around May/June.

I applied 2/3/2023. My interview was initially set for 12/15/2023, and then moved up to 12/4/2023 in less than 10 hours. Next day, got an email stating that it was rescheduled to 3/30/2023.

Got my permit today in the mail finally!
Sent out my application and docs to AZ and UT for out of state CCWs. Hopefully those process fairly quickly.

For new applications the training people told me 16 hours which is 2 days. So I just went with it. Doesnt hurt for more knowledge on these and training.

I applied back in August of 2022 and it was 8 hours then. I wonder if they honor that?

I respectfully disagree. It does hurt, both on principal and cost, because the cost will be double now and it is more red tape that CA is implementing to stop us from realizing our rights.

Per state law, training must be no less than 8 hours and up to 16 hours.
                                Depends on your training provider.

Prior to the change in law, it was always 16 hours.
