How do you deal with moving?

I received another email moving my appointment date up, but this email specifies that I need 3 months of utility bills at my current residence. I moved to OC in October or so, but just recently moved again in Jan. With this new date in April I'll be lucky if I get 3 months of bills by the date of my interview. If they try to move my interview date up again I would have to say no....

And can I print my bills online or do I need the originals they mail to me?

I'm also hoping to buy a place in OC sometime this year, so I may be moving again in 2015...Seems like I should wait for the ccw process to finish before I move again?

Yet another example of how ludicrous this state allows its IAs to be.

Can you imagine the hue and cry that would be delivered by people who were denied their right to speak freely or publish stuff on the internet or in a printed magazine if the government required them to show that they had been firmly planted in a single residence for a full 90 days before being allowed to do so?

You wouldn't even have to go that far.....just make citizenship/legal-residency a requirement for social-services like food stamps or WIC and people will take to the streets and shut down freeways.

Edit: On second thought, just stop allowing people to use EBT at 7-Eleven for garbage like candy bars and gatorade and see how pissed they get.

Don't fret. People double book, change their mind, cancel, etc. You'll be bumped up, likely before summer. Get your paperwork in order.

The links for good cause statements in OP aren't needed for OC... "lawful self defense" is the only cause needed...

I know you should not list a firearm with alterations like a new trigger. What about laser sights? Is it acceptable to have changed the grip? Laser grip or rail mounted laser?

Would it be good to include additional reasons as well? For example, a letter from a doctor that describes some kind of physical limitation that would prevent you from being able to defend yourself without a weapon?

I'm thinking it might help come renewal time if the rules change again...

Each applicant ultimately makes their own decision of course... But at this time the Sheriff is honoring the current Peruta ruling - requiring nothing more than self defense as a good cause for having a CCW.

Personally I don't know how a person without physical limitations would defend themselves (and their loved ones) from a bad guy with a gun... Or multitudes of other examples where physical ability is not a factor.... So I'm not sure how having a limitation makes it different.

I'm not an expert (although many here think they are) - but I'd recommend keeping it as clean as possible without reason to open up further questioning or scrutiny. If your concern is that Peruta may get overturned and Sheriff Hutchens rescinds permits, then you'll have to determine if it's worth adding (potentially) unneeded cause statements.

Yes, first interview is set months out.

At some point, you will get an email or call advancing the date. Mine gave me a month's heads up via email, others have reported a phone call asking if they could come in later the same week.

Not sure why some get calls, others get emails.
