For those who have their CCW, did you get any indication from the interviewer as to whether or not you'd be approved?

Also, has anyone asked when to expect to hear back and if so, how did the interviewer respond?

They tell you right away. At least for me they did.

I hope they do the same for me. The wait when not knowing whether or not you'll be approved would be excruciating. Haha.

Wrong section, this sub forum is about CCW Permits. You need to post here:

              Here's my timeline so far:

I took the class and did the qualifications prior to submitting the application.

              9/17 - Submitted online application
              11/6 - Interview

I was originally scheduled for my interview on 3/24/21, but I checked the portal everyday and I was eventually able to score a much sooner date of 11/9/20. I called in today as I didn't receive any instruction or notification on how the interview would be conducted. They ended up moving the interview to today (11/6) since they had a slot available.

The lady who interviewed me was also the one to process and approve/deny the application. She was really nice and by the end of the interview (all of about 10 mins), she told me I was approved. She just needed me to upload some extra pictures to support my GC statement, pic of my passport, and an ID style photo of myself to use on the CCW permit card.

So now I'm just waiting for them to call me for payment and that should do it.

                Updated timeline:

                9/17 - Submitted online application
                11/6 - Interview
11/9 - Call for payment over the phone
11/12 - Permit arrived in the mail

I am genuinely shocked at how quick (relative to others) and smooth this process was.

Anyone who is on the fence about going through with the process, just do it. We need as many CCW holders as possible out there now. We have no clue what the incoming administration will bring and we all know preparedness is going to be of paramount importance.

                    Nice!
Just curious, when you got your new card, does it have a new issue date and two years from that date, or do you keep your old card until it expires and then use the renewal?

I'm in a bit of hurry to get mine done. I applied last week online. Approval done same day. My training is scheduled and livescan is done.
Quick question ... what do you use for a picture. I was or out of California since 2016 so my permit expired. Had to reapply ... last time they took my picture at the department.

You can't an run an aftermarket slide if it was added after your gun was inspected during training. I would call one of the approved training instructors and tell them what you have. If they inspected your gun and it's safe, legal to own you are good to go.

I know some guys who have aftermarket slides on their gun.
