My appointment is quickly approaching. Anybody willing and able to give an opinion on my GCS?

Hopefully not, and I can just do my shooting qualification and be done with it.

Had you at least notified them you moved?
May be a plus for you if you did.

As long as you submit a renewal before your expiration you don't have to start over.

One of the permit requirements is that you notify them of a change of address, here's the form, fill out and send it TODAY: http://www.ocsd.org/civicax/filebank...x?BlobID=40854
Here's the how-to information page on it: http://www.ocsd.org/about/info/servi...nse_amendments

No worries, I did send it in. Although my previous address is still valid (owned by my parents), and I hadn't moved in right away while renovations were under way.

I was a little unclear with the wording what change of address meant since I technically still spent most nights living at my parents house til renovations/furniture were all done at my new place.

Well that wasn't so bad! He only requested one more piece to back up my GCS that I will email over today. Can anyone answer how long it took to receive the conditional approval email?

Also what happens if you're not home for the residence check(s)? Are these done after 4-5pm when people are actually home? Weekends?

They usually do them on the weekends. If you're not there they'll ask your nieghbors if they can identify your photo as actually living there.

Conditional approval doesn't happen 'till your live-scan results come in and they submit your app file for final approval. This can take anywhere from a couple of months to as long as five or six.

                        Patience grasshopper....

My IO made a first attempt on a weeknight around 7pm, but I was at the gym so he said he would stop by another time(He called me to tell me he was outside my residence). The second attempt was on the following Saturday morning. Once again he called me to let me know he was outside. Luckily I was coming back from work and only 5 minutes away. I approached his vehicle(calmly and from the front obviously) and greeted him. He looked at his file to verify that it was me, asked me if I had any questions, and then he watched me walk into my home. That was it. To my knowledge, none of my neighbors were approached.

Why would you approach in an un-calm manner? Why is approaching from the front "obvious"? You knew he was going to be there, and he knew you were coming.

A data point... Livescan took just two weeks. Livescan was submitted 6/7 after business hours. Background check was at OCSD CCW office by 6/23.
