I’m curious now; when was there an update to the website? I submitted my renewal package a little over a month ago and double checked to make sure the renewal fee was $30. Now it states $45. Am I confused or did they just update it?

Still haven’t gotten word from them and the permit is about to expire :/ . We'll see how long this takes…

One data point, I did my livescan on 4/5/2023 as requested on the LASD website for applicants who applied last summer. The firearms portion cleared on the 12th. Fluke? Who knows but perhaps the backlog is done.

Sent my training docs on 4/8 and a polite follow up on 4/11 for confirmation of receipt and received a request for current utility bill on 4/17 but no confirmation on of receipt yet ��

Sent my training docs 2/18, asked for a utility bill 3/16, politely followed up and got a reply 4/12 to keep waiting, still waiting on pick up.

Just received the call for pickup 1 day shy of 11 weeks since training docs received confirmation. Pickup date set for 5/17. 15 months and 8 days exactly from application delivered to pickup.

I emailed them on 4/17/23 to verify if they received my firearm training. They responded promptly and confirmed receipt.

Just picked up at 1:40 today. There were about five others waiting to pick-up, besides me. One was dressed like Crocodile Dundee. In and out like Denzel Washington in Equalizer. The Deputy wasn't in a talking mood, so I didn't say a word. I tried to ask a few questions, about the process, but her answer was I didn't do your interview, and I knew it was time to shut up and sign the form. I wish all of you who are waiting, the best of luck. Your time will come. Just not as fast as we would like.

My dad had his interview on Wednesday 4/26 and when he asked about the timeline LASD said it?ll be at least 6 more months till he might get the call to pick up.

For reference, he turned his is app to the local sheriff at the end of June 22. That would make it a total of about 16/17 months.

He?s already done his Livescan and is doing his training ahead of his Proceed to Training email.

Dang. I submitted my app at the beginning of June 22 and have yet to hear anything about an interview , I applied with the LAPD 2 months ago and just got a call an hour ago for an interview. Unfortunately I live outside of their jurisdiction so I have to wait for the sheriff .

So funny, some lady comes out in the waiting area and says to one guy, do you have your check or money order made out for $129.00. Haha, everyone waiting jumped up and said, what, it's a $129.00 instead of $120.00. Then she realized what she said, and then corrected herself and said $120.00. I thought the few people waiting were going to have a heart attack.

😂😂😂 yeah I can imagine like wtf. They told me 120 so I guess the price hike is for applicants after the may 1st deadline. Man you went dressed to the 9's huh Tom Ford suited and all, eh the only people who are gonna see it if anything is the police. I'm blue collar man so I'm showing up as a gray man 😂
