Journey complete
Finally picked up the CCW today. It is a very quick process. You hand them the money order or cashier's check and your driver's license, confirm a few basic details like name and address are still current and then sign and initial a form that spells out the CCW legal policy rules (you can take a copy of this with your phone as you don't get a duplicate to keep). The deputy then takes your thumbprint and a photo, prints out the card and hands it to you along with a letter from the Undersheriff asking you to use your 'utmost common sense, caution and restraint when carrying a firearm and to fully comply with the legal policies provided'.
The deputy said that there are currently two deputies assigned to issuing permits and they are doing about 40/day between the two of them. They have seen a slowdown in applications post Bruen now that local PDs are accepting CCW applications however they still have a significant backlog of applications that they are working through.
