I had my phone interview last week... I applied July 2022 and received a confirm your email phone call at the end of Feb.2024.
While speaking with the Detective, I asked about updating my listed pistols. She said just to qualify with the pistols I want on my permit. In previous posts, I read that you can update during the phone interview. Did their policy change? I don't want to qualify with 2 new pistols and 1 old pistol, but only be able to carry the 1 pistol that was originally listed.Comment

Each interviewing deputy is different. Some may request and handle over phone, via email, or what you qualified with.I had my phone interview last week... I applied July 2022 and received a confirm your email phone call at the end of Feb.2024.

My interviewing deputy asked me over the phone and then said to reply back to his generic email of the handgun and SN to update.
What I was told is whatever was listed on the application was just a start to process the application.
The proficiency and qualifications sheet is what you will submit with the handguns you qualify with to add onto the permit. So technically if she told you to qualify what you want on your permit then... go with that.Last edited by DProm; 04-09-2024, 4:34 PM.FS: Modlite PL350OKW pistol light, 365 IWB Holster

I listed 3 when I applied. But then after my interview I purchased something new and then qualified replacing one of my original 3 out. Then after the fact I saw some discussion on the topic here and decided to ask. I was told it was too late to change firearms but I didn?t feel like arguing (because whats the point) or trying to requalify. Each interviewing deputy is different. I only qualified with one of the 3 pistols on my application and two new one. Didn't report it to them or anything. Whats on your qualification paperwork you send in is what ends up on you permit.

I used Artemis Defense Institute from the LASD list of approved training centers. (http://www.artemishq.com). First 8hr day was all zoom. Second day was at their facility and at Prado Shooting Range. I highly recommend. The owner and main presenter, Steven Lieberman, is also a practicing attorney that handles 2nd Am. issues. Very good zoom presentation. Added bonus is that it was the cheapest on the list!Last edited by Mex_esq; 04-11-2024, 6:08 PM.*LASD CCW Timeline*

Cool thanks. Just trying to gauge the gap from the interview to P2T...
Medic Up wont be disappointed at all. There are retired deputies there and active sheriff there that runs that class. They all will do all they can you help you. The medical aid portion of the class is a bonus as well as some real life scenario simulations.FS: Modlite PL350OKW pistol light, 365 IWB Holster
