Hi Folks - I have looked at this forum but did not find an answer to this question.

Does anyone have an idea of how long it takes the DOJ to process an intra-familial transfer of gun ownership? My father gave me one of his guns and I want to list on my CCW Application. Thanks for your help!

I did one in Jan of this year thru cfars acct got an email in May saying they received it and that's the last I've heard, but from what I heard as long as you submitted it on the website you can do what u want it's yours you did your part.

For me, they called last week saying they needed a utility bill, and that my interviewing deputy didn't have me sing a form during my interview (look at my timeline to see how long that took to figure out)

Intrafamilial Transfer

I understand what you mean but I have to tell you that a co-worker that lives in a neighboring county submitted an intrafamilial transfer request about a week before I mailed my request. His county sheriff informed him last week that he can not add the gun to his CCW list because DOJ still has not changed the ownership! At this point, it has been more than 4 months!!

So I am wondering if anyone has an idea what is a typical processing timeframe. Thanks!

Sometimes on my phone spam callers come up as spam likely (ATT) so good to know to start answering. The last call I got from them came throw with a 213 area code. Others said it comes through as unknown
