LAPD os fast at the moment because they just open up and there are not that many applications yet. Expect that to change when people know about them. It will be longer and longer.

As for LASD. It doesnt matter when you did your live scan because firearm portion can take a long time. From the day firearm portion is done, right now its about 5-6 weeks wait for training email. You can do the training after your firearm portion is done and send them the certificate right after you get that training email. My firearm portion clear 9/2/22. Training email 10/12. For now I expect another 5-6 weeks before pick up call.

To make things faster, u can do your training right after you get that interview schedule,, but before the interview. Take the certificate and quals to the interview. If the deputy take it, then you can skip a few weeks waiting. As I understand it, if a deputy looks at your file and moves it to the next step, it will be more than a month before your file is looked at again. When I did my interview, the deputy tole me if I did my training already she could take my certificate. I didnt know at the time and didnt have it.

Yikes that's a bummer for the ones that have been waiting! My deputy friend told me that they have been outsourcing a lot of help from other stations recently. If true, with this new batch of deputies along with weekend pick ups (read that someone picked up on a Saturday recently!), I'm optimistic that they will catch up with the backlog.

One does wonder though, that if that July 2022 applicant already received a call for an interview, if these newer batch of deputies are only responsible for all newer incoming applicants. For instance, I have two friends that are up for renewal. One friend turned his renewal app in almost 90 days ago and his permit expires this month, while the other friend turned his renewal in 3 weeks ago (with a December expiration date). The second friend with the December expiration date received a call for a phone interview already while the first friend has not received anything yet.

I submitted my renewal 90 days ago but haven't heard back. Mine expires in less than a month.

Proceed to training email just came in today. I replied with my certificate and shooting Proficiency standards form right away. Does an email come saying they received the docs happen before you get the call?

I submitted my renewal 90 days ago but haven't heard back. Mine expires in less than a month.

It was the same for me. I had submitted my renewal more than 90 days before expiration. They didn't call me for the phone interview until a few days before my permit expired. I had been 'naked' for almost a week when they called me to pick up my renewal.

Just received my "Proceed with training" email this morning. I also replied with my Documents to the email, as well as a new email to CCW_unit. Updated signature. Fingers crossed! Waiting game begins!

Sounds like a wave of proceed to trainings went out today, but I received mine as well after eagerly awaiting since my livescan cleared in early August... onwards to the next step!

My MO just got cashed today. My app was mailed 07/15/22 and received 07/18/22
