I have a feeling if it comes to a halt he will be speaking with Judge about it. Not where you want to be in an election year.Comment

Individual rights are not subject to a public vote; a majority has no right to vote away the rights of a minority; the political function of rights is precisely to protect minorities from oppression by majorities (and the smallest minority on earth is the individual).

It could be that these two deputies were already relieved from their duties at the CCW unit last year (someone mentioned here that the process changed back in Sept. 2021). That would make sense since complaint investigations usually take a year or so before any action is taken. During that period, usually the involved employee is re-assigned to another unit. I doubt these two deputies are currently in the unit before the search warrants and suspensions went out.
It also sounds like they were getting 'kick backs' somehow relating to the owner of that gun store. It could be that they were processing and approving ccw applications faster to those involved with the owner. Also, I want to say that this same gun store also was approved as a vendor for qualifications, but was taken off the list. Notice on the authorized training provider on their website says that 'No preference towards a training provider is shown or implied'.Last edited by master lee; 09-03-2022, 11:25 AM.Comment

Wow, this all eerily lines up with the discrepancies exhibited in my initial application process last year.It could be that these two deputies were already relieved from their duties at the CCW unit last year (someone mentioned here that the process changed back in Sept. 2021). I don’t think this incident will really affect the flow of things. Most of the investigation into the ccw scheme probably occurred during the last year before they gathered enough to execute search warrants. It could be a small factor in why the process slowed down for a lot of folks during the past year.Last edited by master lee; 09-03-2022, 12:40 PM.Comment

So, I sent my application to the Hall of Justice last week 8/26 as per first class registered/certified mail as some have suggested. I check the history tracking at USPS and find it looping between the Los Angeles and the Santa Ana regional facility.

Thoughts anyone? Should I just re-send another application (voiding my $30 check)...? Or should I just hand it off to the LASD station?
TIA!
