My old neighbor was down there yesterday for his interview. Just talked with him, he said it was short, simple, to the point. He was given the livescan form, said once that was completed, his application would be reviewed and he would either be approved and told to proceed with training, or he would receive a denial letter. She didn't ask him any questions about his GC statement, so he isn't sure what to make of it. He thought they would ask about it, or at least have a question about it. I told him not to get his hopes up even though he is yellow for work related and no-one can predict who will be the victor in the election. He applied June of 2021.

Can you or someone else expand on this statement? Will a permit be restricted if someone used carrying a sensitive work related asset with confidential information on it as a GC to the point that one could only carry while carrying the work asset? Or would someone have to present that type of asset and data at the pick up?

While in theory, an issuing agency can put such resrictions on a permit I have not heard of any of the So. Cal. counties doing so.
I wish today's liberals could understand: You cannot be generous by giving away other peoples' money and you cannot demonstrate your virtue by your willingness to give up other peoples' rights.

The more time I spend on this forum, the more sense kcbrown makes.

Whew! I figured that was the case but the comment gave me a tad bit of pause.

It's all case by case. If they seem that there is a need to put restrictions then they can. Unless you make a comment during your interview and say "yeah I only need to carry when I'm working" but other than that it is unheard of.

If he already had his interview yesterday, he will certainly get a decision before a new sheriff takes office in December even if Villanueva loses the election. In addition, the NYSRPA v Bruen decision will have been issued by the end of June, so it is unlikely his good cause will be an obstacle, especially if it is work-related.
