Cal Vehicle Code 14600: "(a) Whenever any person after applying for or receiving a driver's license moves to a new residence, or acquires a new mailing address different from the address shown in the application or in the license as issued, he or she shall within 10 days thereafter notify the department of both the old and new address.  The department may issue a document to accompany the driver's license reflecting the new address of the holder of the license.

Your address does play a big role. They are more lenient to those that live in higher crime areas. For example if you live in Malibu, they are less likely to issue you a permit. Just discuss this with your investigator.

I finally received a call from a Deputy yesterday and I'm scheduled for an interview for May 10th. I need to bring bank statements showing cash deposits only, and 5 out of my 13 business hybrid vehicle registrations. Proof of residence, proof of employment and proof of identity.

I have all of those ready to go.

congrats! get all your paperwork in order. I would suggest take more then you need just incase , the more proof you have its better!

Our timelines are similar and I am at 10 1/2 weeks on Firearms. This seems to be the most variable of the wait times and from what I have read in this forum, there are many factors that go into it clearing. With this said, I believe most people clear firearms faster than mine has, say 6-8 weeks.

Hey all, I've read so many pages my head is spinning. What does the GC colors refer to?
I am currently at Firearms: in Progress x9 weeks. Maybe the GC color comes later?

"Self-defense/routine daily risks" = Dark Green
"Recreational risks" = Light Green
"Employment-related risks" = Yellow
"Business owner" = Light Red
"Specific & verifiable threats against your life" = Dark Red

Yes, that is a factor also for being remote but logically the safer the area the less chance of being approved. I am for shall issue but this is just the reality of LA county. If you live in an area AND do business only in an area that virtually has no violent crime they will factor that in.

If you live in a safe area and travel to the more crime riddled areas, you will be more likely to become issued. I'm not trying to spread fake news but everyone needs to understand that we live in a county that will use anything against us not to issue a CCW. AV has mentioned this in his interviews. WE have to prove ourselves to them, not the other way around unfortunately.
