Just passed my 7th week in waiting for firearms portion to clear LiveScan. CA/FBI cleared on Feb. 7. Anyone else seeing this kind of delay at the moment?

That's insane ..... the longest we've seen on here is 6 weeks and around 5 days. I don't think it has anything to do with you. The doj is backed up.

Also, I read somewhere that the California and FBI background checks are fully automated, and that is why they can clear in 48 hours or less, but the "firearms" portion requires some manual checking of various databases. I don't know what that entails, but suppose they are checking databases of restraining orders, and some clown with the same name as you has a restraining order. I could take someone a few days/weeks to get a response back for more info in order to confirm that clown is not you.

That's true, CA & FBI clears on the same day sometimes even in minutes. It's surprising that the firearms portion is taking this long. On top of that you have to wait for the ccw unit to send you the training email. At this rate that is about 2-3 months from livescan to training.

Think about the pickup process as a form of marketing if you are a business owner. Get donuts or pastries and put a bunch of business cards in there.

GC Yellow / Red. Consistent RE sales in roughest parts of LA / managing apartment bldg. in very rough part of the harbor area .... Provided ample quality evidence (list of dozens of properties I’ve listed and sold, crimemapping stats for apartment bldg. location, ...., DBAs. licenses, etc.

29-Apr Mailed app with training cert and shooting qual.
2-Jun Check cashed.
19-Jul LASD called, scheduled interview for July 22.
21-Jul LASD called and cancelled interview, said they'll call back in 1-2 weeks.
25-Aug LASD called back (a month later), scheduled interview for Sept 22 at Whitter location.
22-Sep Interview completed, 10-15 min. at most. Provided training cert and shooting qual again, the deputy seemed fine with that. Discussed both GCs. He seemed more interested in the apartment GC. Seemed like a good rapport with the deputy.
22-Sep Did LiveScan.
22-Sep LiveScan/FBI completed.
24-Sep LiveScan/CA completed.
28-Sep LiveScan/Firearms completed.

And nada since…6 months have clicked by w/o any response.
