I'm still voting for AV. I don't want to be just a one issue voter, he's actually doing a good job imo.

@Johnnyv5 yes. If we are being realistic AV is the only way to go. We have to face that we will never get a Chad Bianco LAC. A vote towards another candidate is a vote taken from AV who is actively issuing. Anything any candidate says is hearsay. AV is the only pro CCW candidate who actually has a chance.

I got a voicemail from a deputy last Wednesday, May 4th, that they needed my email to send me the proceed to training email. Does that makes sense? I called and left a voicemail the same day and sent them an email as requested but haven't heard anything back since. Any ideas on what I should do?

What email address did you send your email to? Was it CCW_unit@lasd.org? Did you make super-double-sure that you put an underscore _ between the CCW and the unit? You didn't put a space instead, did you? You didn't send it to lasd.com, did you? It was lasd.org? Make double sure.

Did you get an email back in November with instructions on what you needed to bring to the interview? You should have. Check spam filter.

When you went to your interview in November, did the deputy double-check your email address with you?

Since they told you in the voicemail to go get the training, I would go get the training and email them the two pieces of paper they need. Make sure you email it to CCW_unit@lasd.org. Make sure you put a subject line with your full name and that you are sending training certificate. Something like "Demiurge training certificate attached" (with your real name instead of Demiurge of course). Put that right in the subject line. Don't be like so many idiots and put a stupid subject line like "Important" or "Urgent" or "Question for you." When they see the subject line, it should tell them everything about exactly what that email is about.

You should not leave it at that though and should also call whatever number they gave you to make sure they have the right email address.

I would double check the address. When they called me and tried to set up an Interview, they said it was at the Block Building in Monterey park, 2 others I know from Saugus have had to drive to Monterey Park. One of them said it took 2 hours to get there, and 1 1/2 hours to get back for a 10 minute interview. They did confirm the documents listed were in their email.

My app was mailed in July. Check cashed Aug 3rd. Still no call for interview. Should I be worried? Should I start constantly emailing them? (I kid, kinda). Anyone from August getting calls for interview yet?

It took me one year to get issued. I think you'll be fine. If you don't hear anything in a month, send them an email to follow up.

I just read in this, or another page, that the Deputies just started on August 2021 applications..

                            Yep,

I just had my interview today. Went well, I believe. Deputy was super down to earth, super cool and personable. Totally understood the need. Although the Deputy doesn't make the final decisions, they stated that they saw no reason that I should not be issued a CCW permit. The application with documents will be sent to their SGT for final approval. Had all my paperwork in order (i.e., CCW training, Business docs, Bank Statements of cash deposits, Live Scan, CCW's from other states). They stated that there is nothing else needed and should have an approval or decline within a month, but to email them if I don't hear back after a month.

I feel very positive about today's meeting, but won't get my hopes high.

Also I completed all my training way in events and my lifescan completed Comment and I provide it and I provided the certificates and the lifescan information to the deputy. Thet seemed to be happy that I done everything in advance which makes the process faster.

Yeah. I totally regret not doing the training and live scan before my interview. I got interviewed early March, but you'll probably get your CCW before I do, even though you just got interviewed. Firearms Live Scan is killing me.

I'm wondering if the delay in processing backgrounds or making it very low priority is an order from the top (I.e. Attorney General). He's also anti standard size magazines, so he didn't get my vote.
