This aligns with those who have asked interviewers if GC got tightened about a year ago and they said no. I think people started getting lazy and not taking the time and putting in the effort necessary, and/or thinking that the recreational activity itself was sufficient and not focusing on how it makes them a target (valuable equipment), and puts them at risk ((1) alone (2) in rural areas (3) with spotty cell coverage and (3) few LEOs resulting in (4) long LE response times even if you get a connection.) Plus, provide evidence sufficient to prove ALL of that

Ultimately it was determined during my interview that I actually had a work related GC. However, the deputy told me that the evidence I provided was already very solid but work GC was the path of least resistance so he suggested I submit it in addition.

Sharing as I think these details may help some of you put together a stronger case for your CCW.

Do you have an authoritative source for this? Can you double check?. The reason I ask is I have a friend in San Diego in the same circumstance. She was issued an restraining order and it was logged into some system so if/when the restrained person is contacted by LE for some other reason, he could be served on the spot. Of course, it as not long before the homeless meth-head was in trouble for something else and he was served. You might want to look into this as a possibility.

I still think that portion of the decision lies with the interviewer, and his/her input then gets added to LT which in turn produces result

Today received rejection letter for lack of good cause.

Sorry to hear your news. If I were you (or anybody who has been denied for GC), I would immediately get a second application all ready to mail or hand deliver to the CCW unit the day after SCOTUS issues their decision in BRUEN. I think it is highly likely that the GC requirement will be struck down. You want to get in the head of the line when the giant rush starts.
