Sir, my boss, an ultra high end jeweller from BH instructed the whole office to be very vigilant on who to allow access to the office with explicit instructions that nobody that we do not know is allowed after the anteroom for security purposes.
Our head office was robbed 11 years ago and he and our vp was held at gunpoint and hence his aprpehension on the rise of cases in BH high profile robberies. This and the fact that his residence was robbed last year was among the GC pointed out in his app. This was submitted a little over six months ago and despite the fact that he is a very high profile jeweler, has not heard a thing yet from IA.
He had a conference with the BH CoP last week warning him and others regarding the latest round of smash and grabs in in the BH area, he did mention that he was applying for a permit with LASD but no feedback on what the BH CoP's stand on issuing permits in Beverly Hills jurisdiction/ area.
I prepared his extensive documentation (Inc paper, FS, police reports, et.al) back then and he was asking me what is happening and why it is taking a lot of time; I told him we have to wait and are (hopefully) expecting a call within the month.
Sad thing ( I cannot attest to the veracity of the statement) is one of our high end salesman (he is applying for a permit too) was commenting that there was a batch of artists and musicians that were given the priority in the issuance of the permits (they were called in for a conference about 2-3 months ago) and that they paid extra to expedite their process. I told the guy that it probably is a white glove service from a thrid party and could not have been from the IA as everybody has to wait as the application process is highly procedural in nature and the IA is undermanned that is why this whole process is taking longer than expected.
Meantime, my boss had to move parking from a nearby hotel, which is a block away as he has free parking there as one of our boutique(s) is located there to our office building as he fears he will get robbed since there were already 5 jewelers in the BH area that got robbed and none of them is as high profile as him.
Anyhow, just my two cents on the matter.
