Sir, my boss, an ultra high end jeweller from BH instructed the whole office to be very vigilant on who to allow access to the office with explicit instructions that nobody that we do not know is allowed after the anteroom for security purposes.

Our head office was robbed 11 years ago and he and our vp was held at gunpoint and hence his aprpehension on the rise of cases in BH high profile robberies. This and the fact that his residence was robbed last year was among the GC pointed out in his app. This was submitted a little over six months ago and despite the fact that he is a very high profile jeweler, has not heard a thing yet from IA.

He had a conference with the BH CoP last week warning him and others regarding the latest round of smash and grabs in in the BH area, he did mention that he was applying for a permit with LASD but no feedback on what the BH CoP's stand on issuing permits in Beverly Hills jurisdiction/ area.

I prepared his extensive documentation (Inc paper, FS, police reports, et.al) back then and he was asking me what is happening and why it is taking a lot of time; I told him we have to wait and are (hopefully) expecting a call within the month.

Sad thing ( I cannot attest to the veracity of the statement) is one of our high end salesman (he is applying for a permit too) was commenting that there was a batch of artists and musicians that were given the priority in the issuance of the permits (they were called in for a conference about 2-3 months ago) and that they paid extra to expedite their process. I told the guy that it probably is a white glove service from a thrid party and could not have been from the IA as everybody has to wait as the application process is highly procedural in nature and the IA is undermanned that is why this whole process is taking longer than expected.

Meantime, my boss had to move parking from a nearby hotel, which is a block away as he has free parking there as one of our boutique(s) is located there to our office building as he fears he will get robbed since there were already 5 jewelers in the BH area that got robbed and none of them is as high profile as him.

Anyhow, just my two cents on the matter.

FWIW I heard the BH CoP has a virtual Town Hall today. Maybe someone will bring up CCWs.

I'm thinking about submitting another application filled up according to the instruction just in case. Help!
Your friend needs to take remedial English. The instructions on the LASD CCW page is pretty clear about filling out ALL the sections and signing your name on the application.

I should also say if anyone involved lives in BH they should contact the CoP and tell him you want him to issue CCWs so BH residents don’t have to wait for LASD along with all the other LA county residents.

Also tell him you want average law-abiding residents to also be able to get them. CCWs are like vaccines against BGs. The greater the percent of the population “vaccinated” against BGs the less likely a BG will prevail in attacking any one of us. Ideally when they hear the sheeple now have teeth they’ll change careers sparing both of us major headaches.

I already mentioned that to him last week when we had the meeting regarding office security; I probably have to bring the matter again for him to remember to raise the issue directly to the CoP. Thanks sir.

My wife and I have family friends who live next to the Avants in Trusdale and the entire community is really shocked about break in and homicide.

They even had armed private security at their home and this still happened.

They told us the threat become "real" to them after they heard the details regarding the Avant case.

The deputy asked him what he did for a living but did not pursue it further so his job was not a factor. He didn’t have things like volunteer work or anything of that nature but his record is impeccable. Not even a traffic ticket. There’s some light for you LG guys. Good luck.
This is intriguing. What kind of recreational activity can one do five days a week without it becoming a dark green “daily risk” type of thing?

Edit: Or a quasi-yellow good cause? I think there is reason to believe frequency of the “activity” plays a bigger role in GC classification than we, at least I, have been attributing it. Maybe we have been seeing greater approval rates for what we call “yellow” not because LASD favors employment-tied good cause, but because by nature of most jobs, exposure to the claimed risk environment exists for a majority of an individual’s days out of the week. Similarly, a recreational risk that one is exposed to five days a week may be looked at no differently.

Just wondering I had my live scan done three weeks ago. The CA and FBI portion cleared immediately, however the firearms portion of the live scan is still in progress. How long should I expect this to take? I see most peeps had it all clear within a few days...

It depends. I've seen them completed in a few days and some a few weeks. It seems live scan has been slower for people who applied from June and onward.

Live scan takes anywhere from 7 weeks to 3 weeks.

Just depends how backed up they are.
