No dude. It's all random.

When I sat down with the deputy, it was like the first time he even read my application.

He might have picked it up and saw my beautiful headshot I included with the application and gave me a call. But outside of that, he was asking questions that was obvious he had never looked at my application before

"So where do you live?"
"What do you do for work?"

The deputy I sat down with was up to speed with my application and was mainly asking clarifying questions and had me reiterate my GC. So yes it seems like it's all over the place and pretty random. The deputy seems to be the same one who called to schedule as she was pleased I brought all the documents requested.

I just moved to northridge and was looking to get my CCW. I heard the sheriff is starting to approve applications. My question is do I need to apply to the PD or can I apply straight to the SD?
Also does being a veteran help at all I read it could help expedite the process
Good cause will be somewhere along the lines of im a nurse working early morning late night shift as well as home visits to sketchy neighborhood

I don't think we have seen any evidence that being a veteran or anything else for that matter, will speed up the process. If you want help with your GC, take your best shot at what you would submit and PM me.

If you want to add an extra 3 weeks to your timeline, go ahead and send it to Santa Clarita or West Hollywood.

If you want the fastest possible outcome, mail it to the address on their website.

If you want to waste your time, pay for parking and have the second fastest possible outcome, go turn it in downtown yourself at CCW Unit on Temple.

Next challenge is finding a class that is not full or sold out... close to the holidays. Sheesh!
