The reason people ahead of you are called is:

A stack of applications is reviewed by an administrator then a small portion of that pile is given to a deputy to do call and interview.

So let's say a stack of 10 apps all dated from the 10th to the 20th. One per day.

The administrator may give the first deputy 10th - 15th to call. The second deputy gets 16th-20th. Deputy 1 gets busy and does other stuff.

Deputy 2 is on her **** and calls all 5 applicants the same week.

Deputy 1 then decides to take a pre 4th of July vacation. Is still going to be on his 5 apps in 2-3 weeks.


Not saying I agree with it, but this is most likely how it's being handled.


On my issuance letter, the approval date was Monday, two weeks before I picked up my permit.

Monday is the big processing day for LASD.

I'm pretty confused to be honest .... Do people do the livescan just before and after the interview or actually wait for the "gp" from the investigator to actually go ahead an do it?

That totally makes sense. After my interview I wasn't handed a livescan form or anything and was told to hold off until they told me directly to go ahead and do it. I was under the impression that they tell you to go ahead and proceed.

Yeah wait until he give you a go ahead. Or email you asking you for the live scan. Live scan is hella expensive and you just wanna get it done once

Yeah I was given a live scan form at the end of my interview.

My wife did her live scan before her interview. She already has a CCW permit from AZ.

They didn't give you a live scan form because he's asking the undersheriff, who approves the CCW permits, about your dance with Mary J.

Once the undersheriff says weed is ok, then you'll get the go ahead from your interviewing deputy.

That meeting usually takes place on Mondays, but since this Monday is a holiday, the soonest you'll hear a denial will be the following Monday.
