I wonder why they just have you send in copies with the application, then verify them at your interview with the originals?

No. Bring the originals. Bring copies they can take. Saves everyone time.

My deputy had to take copies of nearly 50 pages of my application. I showed up with a briefcase, manila folders and pages of documentation. He spent probably 5 mins making copies.

I believe it has to be in your name in order to prove you live there. There are other forms of proof that can be used however such as other bills, bank statements, car registration, etc.

I had the same issue. Deputy asked for me to send a utility bill after the interview even if it was in my dad's name.

Hey fellas. I shared a couple of weeks ago that my buddy recently got approved by LASD to do CCW training. He trains out of a private outdoor range in Sylmar so very convenient for those of us in the SFV. Good dude that knows his stuff. Highly recommend him.

Documenting my application process and experience

On Fathers Day I had a conversation with my sister who is an LAPD Sergent. She was telling us about the huge uptick in crime. Long story short - she suggested that I try and get my CCW permit. And mentions that, "you should get it".
So yesterday (6/30/2021, I sent my application with a 30$ money order to headquarters.

My intent is to keep all who are interested, posted on what happens. I will report back when I hear something.
