Really? What trigger modifications would be California compliant? I had taken off my Overwatch drop in trigger for the firearm that I had listed in my CCW application. It's not a light weight trigger, it's just smoother than stock.

As a former LEO, I witnessed many uninformed LEOs regard to current firearm laws and policy. I taught firearms and tactics for over 17 years and observed so many LEOs failed to educated on new gun laws including the freedom week situation. I am not sure whether this deputy understands the current law and exceptions ie, freedom week purchase, and grandfathered magazines.

This is the reason why regular in-service training is so important to keep LEOs current.

Cocktail napkin calculation: 10M total population, assume 2/3 adults -> 6.6M, take away 10% as disqualified (felons, psych, whatever). 2% of 6M is 120,000 CCWers for LAC alone. I emphasize that because the most recent CCW total for the entire state was ~120,000.

You’ve got to figure out how to help AV get many more qualified applicants and get them processed faster. AV needs more resources from the LA Co Board of Supervisors! It is your job to help AV, if you want to ensure LA Co won’t go back to Dark Red....
To get more qualified applicants you LA Co folk need to make sure every owner and employee of every gun shop, shooting club (PPC, IPSC/USPSA, IDPA, skeet/trap, duck/deer hunting) and range knows that Sheriff Villanueva has liberalized issuance.

More LA Co CCWers makes you all safer and reduces the chances of a reversion to restrictive issuance.

Double-checking info for my non-English speaking friend, Is it possible to change 3 guns in the application during the CCW training and qualification?

I believe they finalize everything at the training class. Whatever you qual with, if not on the initial application, you'll need to contact the CCW unit, because they will need to check the serial numbers on those guns and verify you as the legal owner. It could potentially cause some delay but is allowed.

I sent my application today, just wonder if I got a call from LASD, which mean my GC are accept ? And if I pass the interview and the IA ask me to do live scan, which mean my ccw most likely accept also ?

The interview is a good sign, but doesn't guarantee a CCW. Being told to go to LiveScan almost guarantees it, assuming everything is good in your background.

Since the loosening of the GC requirement has anyone who’s been granted an interview get denied after the interview?

Was wondering the same. Also curious what the denial rate for lack of GC has been, ever since AV began issuing.

I'm using TRB training. My wife and I prefer them because they train at FT3 which is our preferred indoor range. We know the staff there so it's a comfort thing.

Fairly expensive at $350 for a 16 hour course.

I suggest every applicant check all the local to them approved trainers on the LASD list. Do personal comparisons by going to their websites, and only then, choosing what they feel best. I posted this list previously, but it got "poofed".

Personally I found TRB to be LESS than honest in their representation on their site.

The course for new applicants will be $350 as both days are required.

Both days are assuredly NOT REQUIRED. But since they can charge more, for the second 8 hrs. They do. Then blame it on LASD.

Hey sorry that was poor wording on my end. Course is $350 for the two days, 16 hour course.
