        Hi All,

I'm in L.A County and submitted my CCW application in late March. Surprisingly, I just received a phone call for an in-person interview this Thursday at the Whittier location.

However, I'm stuck at the "bring an Utility bill" as I do not have one in my name. I replied and asked the Sheriff (whom may be conducting the interview) that if I could use my vehicle registration instead or if the registration cannot be accepted, what other type of document can I bring. He replied stating "The CCW file requires a utility bill."

At this point, should I even proceed further?

        Thanks for reading.

Quick question for you fellas. I moved a little less than a year ago and never changed the address on my drivers license or any other documents because I didn't know how long I was going to be at the new place. Now, I still get all my mail to the old address(parents house) which is on my drivers license but do not reside there anymore.

Question being, does anyone foresee any issues with this?

Just not sure which address to list...

What city is your parents house in? If outside of LA county, it may be an issue.

You may have to ask your roommates (parents) to let you put something in your name. Electricity, Water, Trash to move forward. Otherwise I would say create a rental agreement stating that landlord takes care of "all utilities" and hopefully that will be suffice.

When I was a young buck my old roommate once told me after a certain time your mommy titty runs out of milk and you start to grow a pair. I took her advice and unlatched from the boob and became a grown up.

I suggest contacting the CCW unit directly on their website:

The issuance of licenses enabling a private citizen to carry a concealed weapon (CCW) is of great concern to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Ask about alternative proof of residency documents and print their response and bring that along with your supporting document to the interview.

The Dep I had an interview with accepted my vehicle registration as my proof of residency.

However, I did bring a whole lot of other mail including a IRS tax form that was mailed to me, paycheck stub, credit card bill, and anything else I could find.

Also, according to the California Vehicle Code, you are supposed to change your address through the DMV within 10 days. This is for both CDL and vehicle registration. You don’t want to let them use that excuse to deny you or stall your CCW.

Questions on Good cause... So I'm going to put in my work profession with security and also i'm thinking of including my pass tenants from hell. I or we (plus parents) had documented all the police reports of threats and assaults that these tenants had conflicted on to us. Of course police reports. My thing is even that event have taken place maybe 5 years ago and have long since move out.... would it still be a good reason? because they still live within Los Angeles county

There will be a rally against Sheriff AV tomorrow at 10:30 in front of the Hall of Justice, 211 W. Temple St, Los Angeles 90012. It's organized by BLM-style groups, protesting against the fact that some criminals got a boo-boo when they were resisting arrest. My understanding of reality is that a life of crime results in a high chance of getting a boo-boo, and resisting arrest results in an even more high chance of getting a boo-boo.

AFAIK there aren't any groups going to show up in support of the sheriff but if anyone is around, and can make a sign and stand there for five minutes, that might be a good gesture Sheriff AV.

I'm an idiot and have to go to work.

Sorry boys, won't be there to counter protest because am idiot.

Can we talk to BLM and ask them to schedule a protest after 630? I get off around 5 but need to go home to change and traffic sucks...so can really only counter protest in the evenings.
